A respite

I throw my head back, so tired you see
As I close my eyes these images I see
fear and war and crime oh gee
look at the time
good golly where is my tv?

Noise and pain and frenzied activity
streaking past me like a new soldier on liberty
ranting and raving and sirens are heard
men and women in line for food
looking much like a thundering herd

Others I see, distant shiny and new
quiet and close and looking all through
to one single place as if they knew
Since when I ask did you come here?
1400 times ago, just this past year.
But I saw you not, can it be that I forgot?
From birth you knew us, you just were drawn away
we love you still, come back we all say.

I can not this moment you know
my feet only walk oh so slow
things I must do to make my soul see right
untill I heal those the dawn can't pierce the night.
We shall be here, maybe some maybe not
but whoever is here will love you like me
because we are all created by the man we can not see.
