akhis ramzan coming in 10 days.in ramzan I got about my normal work because it does not mean u tell people u fasting and sit like old man.
but i cannot do exercise because too much strain what u say other akhis?

do it light brother.. put less strain on urself.. but keep it going

If u leave it for a month, u will have to start from beginning

and do it just before iftaar, like an hour ago, so that u can eat immediately

Assalamu alaykum,

I was going to Gym in past but leaving for ramadaan. How that will work in your case is a different matter, you can continue light exercises if you don't want to disturb the rhythm.

no akhi Gernada1492 cannot do it in evening.
think so will take a month break and then start fresh with new energy.inshallah

yeah akhi abumuhammad its better to take a break in ramzan I think.

:salam2:

I used to lift weights and run on a serious level. When ramadhan came, as I remember, I would wait until like 1 and half hour before iftar and lift to maintain strength, not build strength.

for the running, I used go during the day and walk instead of run, while doing that I would memorize.

as long as you take it easy, it will not affect you. If you are trying to mass build in ramadhan, you would be taking away precious time you could be praying in night as you will not have the strength to lift properly for enough reps while fasting.

wa Allah ya'lam

Salaamalaykum waa rahmatullahi brothers,

I second the advise of most of the people to reallocate time from leisure activities to ibadah during Ramadan. I too have planned to cut down on some of my own activities during this Ramadan InshaAllah.

Also, you could focus on an aspect of your physical training that doesn't involve dehydrating to a great extent. I would suggest 'flexibility training'. It is often overlooked completely by non-athletes who train. Yet it is beneficial for the joints and muscles in your body and is essential part of strength training.

You could try out some static flexibility exercises, they hardly involve a lot of perspiration.

PS Muslims have a head start on their back bones & knee joint stretches as we perform rukoo number of times a day (as well as sujood). Bending and touching your toes ? Should be a piece of cake for all of us. ;)

I hold high regard for the knowledge you hold and I feel happy reading you responses.

I did also plan to schedule a exercise regimen during Ramadaan but I keep saying Ramadaan is blessed month I shouldn't waste so I did wonder if I could just spend 1 hour a day in the gym at the treadmill.

1 hour on the treadmill!!!

try some interval training such as the following

[yt]gmuSgwCNSgE[/yt]

you will be dead in 5 mins.

That is insane.. I wish I am in a physical condition to carry that out for 10-15 minutes..

if you do this correctly you cant.
google tabata work out

basically mr tabata developed this technique of a short high intensity cardio rather than moderate intensity long duration cardio. you choose a good cardio/bodyweight exercise you know well such as situp, sprints, squat, pushup etc.
in the video the exercise he is doing is the burpee. so the tabata workout goes like this

1. burpee/(some other exercise) 20s
2. rest 10 s

repeat 1 and 2 eight times so the total workout is just 4 mins long. The actual workout feels like eternity. additionally you have to go as fast as possible during the 20s.

the actual tests were conducted on athletes on cycling machines and the study proved that this regime is better than 45 mins moderate intensity cardio.

tabata is just one form of interval training. google HIIT to learn more about high intensity training.

the best fatloss exercise is interval sprints. one can do it on treadmill as well.

1. fast sprint 30s
2. slow steady jog/walk 30s

repeat 1 and 2 ten times. increase it to twenty as your fitness improves.

I personally think that it un appropriate to do exercise on an empty stomach either you r fasting or not.cuz it not right!!
But if you insist i recommend that you do after break fasting. during the earlier day while you fast in the holy month of Ramadhan the better one to do more zikir!

Take Care!

Record broken

Salam Aleykum,

Well Brother, Hakeem Olajuwon, the basket player, said that he broke his records in sport while fasting in Ramadan month. Of course, he is a professional athlete.
There are many brothers who play soccer in Ramadan but they do it an hour to 2 hours before sunset. It is not advisable to play a soccer game early in the morning.
