Wa alaykum Salam,

thanks. he is good brother, I have much respect for him and the Mosque is good too. They follow the Quran and the Sunnah, inshaAllah. And people can learn a lot from there.

The program was sensationalist and put many things out of context. BUT, a lot of this did not have to happen.

I would advise Muslims to think carefully and speak PROPERLY with wisdom. Unfortunately, these speakers still have a lot to learn, to give da'wah like those with knowledge give da'wah i.e. the Scholars of Islam from the Past and the Present. There is a clear ettiquette of giving Da'wah and the people who take this position of Imam and Khateeb MUST know and follow that.

Aiming to do "Fiery" speeches etc is not necessary. None of the Ulema' did so, nor do they go about shouting and making jokes of people. They simply talk using Quran and Hadith and the books of the Scholars.

There is no use in talking about throwing Homosexuals off Cliffs, or by saying that you should discriminate against Homosexuals as much as you can without getting caught. His joke about dentists etc is not really fitting for a person calling to Islam to say.

None of this angry rhetoric or politicalised speech is from Islam. Nor will you see the Scholars talking like this. What exactly was the benefit of talking and comparing Bush and Bin Laden? This is just silly. If you see and hear the speeches of the Ulema' and the books of the Salaf, you will know that they stuck to the teachings of Islam and kept things very simple. There is a strict way of teaching and giving da'wah in Sermons or talks.

Basically, they must speak with Hikmah

Invite (mankind, O Muhammad SAW) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islâm) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'ân) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided. (16:125)

I believe people who disagree to this or who cover up the mistakes of individuals are doing themselves injustice. I am disappointed in them for being so careless in the way they presented the Da'wah of Islam.

You must Speak nicely, break things down, call people to Tawheed and correct Aqeedah. Use good ettiquette manners and speak in nice way.

Of course much of the blame lies with the Media, also blame lies with those people who have spent so much time giving da'wah but have lapsed in their way of teaching.

We have had homosexuals and various different kinds of people on this website, and we dealt with them in a good way, that befitting how a Muslim should behave. We told them the stance of Islam regarding these matters and also their obligation still to learn about Islam and to worship Allah alone.

BOTTOM LINE:

Channel 4 Dispatches = WRONG

Brothers ,LACKING in Hikmah and Proper Dawah giving Style
. Stick to the CORRECT Methodology, ask the Ulema' for assistance in the way a person should call to Islam. We are not Scholars, there is NO SHAME in asking them or telling the people that you are Not SCHOLARS.

Remember, the Prophet :saw: warned against those people who do fiery rhetoric. We should be aware of our position and stick to our lowly position of non-Scholars!! It is a big big responsibility.

They are good people, and we should learn from them, and we ask Allah to forgive us all for our sins and for any mistakes we do. Ameen. May Allah reward them all for their good work, and defeat the enemies of Islam in their negative campaign against the Muslims...

Juzak-Allah Khair mabsoot,

[6:112] And so We have appointed for every Prophet enemies - Shayaateen among mankind and jinns, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a delusion {or by way of deception}. If your Lord had so willed, they would not have done it, so leave them alone with their fabrications.

[25:31] Thus have We made for every Prophet an enemy among the Mujrimeen {polytheists, criminals, sinners, etc.}. But Sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and Helper.

What comes to mind is the piece of advice by the Companion Ibn Mas'ûd (d.32h),

That Ibn Mas'ûd - Radiallâhu 'anhu - said: "You are in a time whose Scholars are many and its speakers are few. After you will come a time whose Scholars are few and its speakers are many." [related by at-Tabaranî in al-Kabîr (8066) and al-Bukhârî in Adab al-Mufrad (789) and declared to be Sahîh (authentic) by al-Hâfidh Ibn Hajr in Fath al-Bârî (10/510) ]

Also from The Piece of Advise 'Ali Radiallâhu 'anhu gave to Kumail ibn Ziyâd

"The people are of three classes:

The righteous Scholar, the student of Knowledge being upon the path of salvation and the confused rabble who follow everyone who calls out - bending along with every wind - they are not enlightened by the light of Knowledge, nor do they lean upon a firm support."
[Part of a lengthy piece of advice - as is reported by Abû Nu'aym al-Asbahânî in Hilyatul-Awliyâ (1/79-80).]

In every age and intervals between the Prophets, Allah raises up a group from the people of knowledge, who call the misguided to guidance and patiently bearing ill-treatment and harm. With the Book of Allaah, they give life to the dead, and by Allaah’s Light they give sight to the blind. How many a person killed by Iblees have they revived. How many people astray and wandering have they guided. How beautiful their effect has been upon the people, and how vile the people have been towards them. They expel from the Book of Allaah the alterations of those going beyond bounds, the false claims of the liars and the false interpretations of the ignorant-ones – those who uphold the banner of innovation and who unleash the fitnah (trial and discord), who differ about the Book, oppose the Book and agree to oppose the Book. Those who speak about Allaah and His Book without knowledge, and who argue about what is ambiguous in the Book, and deceive the ignorant with such ambiguities. So we seek refuge in Allaah from the fitan (trials and discord) of the misguided-ones.” [ar-Radd ’alal-Jahmiyyah waz-Zanaadiqah (p. 2) of Imaam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal]

Imaam an-Nawawee (d.676H) – Rahimahullaah – said:

“The one ordering the good or prohibiting the evil must be knowledgeable about what is being ordered or prohibited. And the level of knowledge required for this will vary in accordance with what is being ordered or prohibited. Thus, if it is an issue concerning clear-cut obligations and well-known prohibitions – such as Prayer, Fasting, fornication or drinking intoxicants – then every Muslim is a Scholar with regards to such issues. However, if the issue involves detailed matters, or matters connected to ijtihaad (the science of extracting rulings of the Revelation), then the general body of Muslims cannot enter into it, nor is it for them to order or prohibit. Rather, this is only for the Scholars.” [Sharh Saheeh Muslim (2/23)]

The Prophet :saw: said:, “The virtue of the scholar to a worshipper (Aabid) is similar to the virtue of the moon when it is full to the rest of the stars. And verily the scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets. Verily the Prophets did not leave behind dirhams and deenars, but rather they left behind knowledge. Thus whoever takes it, takes it as a bountiful share.”Authentic, narrated by Abu Dawood, tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah.

So The scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets, those who concentrated on understanding the formulating principles regarding the halaal (lawful) and the haraam (prohibited). Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (d.728H) – rahimahullaah – said: “And whosoever from this Ummah, is known for having truthfulness, whereas he has been praised and commended by the majority of the various groups of people from this Ummah, then those are the leaders of guidance and the beacons in the darkness.” [Majmoo’ul-Fataawaa (11/45)]

So they are the Rabbaanee Scholars, those who teach the people the Book and the wisdom, and to cultivate the people upon it. And they are the people of deep understanding and wisdom, whom Allaah commanded us to ask, by His saying:

“Ask the people of knowledge if you do not know.” [Sooratul-Anbiyaa‘ 21:30]

[The Rabbaanee Scholar is one possessing deep knowledge and who acts in accordance to his knowledge and teaches it to others in accordance to their level. Refer to Fathul-Baaree (1/214) of al-Haafidh Ibn Hajar.]

The position of the people of Islamic knowledge reached such a level that the Angels pray for the Scholars.

From Abu Umaamah (Radi Allahu anhu): Rasul Allah said :saw: “Verily Allah and His angels, even the ant in its hole and the fish in the sea, verily (they all) pray for he who teaches people good.” – authentic, narrated by Tabraanee.

One of the hadith scholars that Imam Bukhari (Rahmatullah 'alaih) took from, Hisham ibn Ammar (Rahmatullah 'alaih) narrates a story that happened to him when he was 8 years old. He says, “My father sold a house of his for 20 Dinars so that I could go for Hajj (and study Islam). When I arrived in Madinah, I went to the circle of Imam Malik. He was sitting amongst his students like a king. People would ask him questions and he would answer. When I entered the crowd and my turn came up I said, ‘Haddithnee (recite to me)!’ He said, ‘Rather you read.’ I said, ‘No, you haddithnee!’ Imam Malik said, ‘No you read!’ When I talked back and argued, he got angry and said to another student, go with this boy outside and smack him 15 times!’ That student took me outside and smacked me 15 times with a stick and then brought me back to Imam Malik. I said, ‘you have Dhulm (wronged) me! My father sold his house so that I could come to you and be honored by listening to your teaching and seek knowledge from you. And you smacked me 15 times without any crime on my part, I shall not forgive you!’ Imam Malik then said, ‘What is the expiation for this Dhulm (wronging)?’ I said, ‘You have to recite 15 hadiths to me, that is the expiation.’ So Imam Malik began reciting the hadith to me until he completed 15. When he ended I told him, ‘beat me more and read more hadith to me.” Imam Malik laughed and said, ‘be off.’ – From the book Ma’rifat Al-Qurraa’ al-Kibaar by Imam Adh-Dhahabi.

From the beginning of time, there has been a race between the doers of good and the doers of evil. Adam and Iblees, Musa and Fir’own, Muhammad and Abu Jahl. Today that race has not ended. Think: How hard are the doers of evil working and how hard are we?

The one involved in Da'wah must have adequate Shari'ah Knowledge, or else more harm will occur than good - as the saying of old goes:

Sa'd brought the camels leading them. O Sa'd - that is not the way to bring in camels!

This is why its Important tha Muslims should not realy rely on Speakers and those who give Fiery Sermons & speeches.

The foundation of all good is knowledge and Justice and the foundation of all evil is ignorance and Oppression.

Verily All muslims should refer back to the Scholars and learn from them since they are the inheritors of the Prophets.

Yet in todays time, it's sufficient for one to be a speaker and that is enough credentials for him to be a guide for the Ummah - regardless of whether he has knowledge or not!

How yesterday's warning depicts today's action!

Defending Abu Usamma

i received this email today and was asked to forward it to as many people. I hope it is okay, if its not please feel free to delete it.Here goes:

as-salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu

No doubt you are aware of the recent airing of a programme by Channel Four
entitled “Undercover Mosque”, an investigation where the infiltration of “secret” lectures were made. Secret lectures which have always been available on the public domain!!

It comes as no surprise, really, that the Dispatches circus intentionally dispatched a cut/copy/edit “journalistic” farce of a programme where statements were taken completely out of context in order to help put a wedge between the truth of Islam and the spiritually vacuumed Western world, poisoning their minds and aiming to push people away from the very religion they were created to follow – the submission to Allaah, Islam.

It comes as no surprise that they employed this age old tactic of misquoting and cherry picking statements and presenting them in the most inflammatory manner to demonise the Muslims, their religion and their teachers.

It comes as no surprise that ‘Dispatches’ has chosen to portray Muslims in the worst possible light, opted for sensationalism over substance with total disregard for peaceful community relations.

All this comes as no surprise as the truth will always be attacked, a truth which is so powerful, pure and readily accepted by the sincere heart, that governments, Christians, Jews and all other enemies of Allaah with their money, mass media and all other tools that Allaah has blessed them with cannot put out or stop it being embraced in droves. This is because Islam is the light of Allaah. And He will perfect it despite the disbelievers hatred for it.

We are striving to defend the recent attacks from the enemies of Tawheed by uploading various responses to the recent documentary. Please visit http://www.calltoislam.comto see Abu Usaamah’s video response to it as well as other beneficial articles etc. Please forward this email on to all on your mailing list.

Learnings of Islam

As salaamu alaikum brothers and sisters. This site is a blessing from Allah indeed. That video of the Imam is incredibly revealing and informative, especially to someone such as myself who is new to the religion. I live in Lithonia, Georgia and I've been Muslim for about a year. My hunger for true knowledge of Islam grows each passing moment. Islamic concepts are so numerous and various and it is wonderous to learn about them. I look forward to learning more...As salaamu alaikum.

Civil Democratic Islam: Partners, Resources & Strategies (By Cheryl Benard)

Asslamo Allaikum Brothers & Sisters,

The dispatchers program was shown while I was out of the country so didnt get a chance to see it....As I was speaking to the sister that I wouldn't want to comment before watching it myself....

I beleive that the program is a naked attempt at pitting "FUNDAMENTALISTS, TRADIONALISTS, MODERANIST & SECULARIST" ( these are their terms & not mine) together...

I saw the recording last night; I beleive that BEFORE commenting on the program Brothers & Sisters should read the following paper by Cheryl Benard (by the famous think-tank called RAND)

I strongly urge all to at least take the time to read the Summary

Full article can be viewed at http://www.rand.org/pubs/monograph_reports/2005/MR1716.pdf

Summary (http://www.rand.org/pubs/monograph_reports/2005/MR1716.sum.pdf) is as follows:

There is no question that contemporary Islam is in a volatile state, engaged in
an internal and external struggle over its values, its identity, and its place in the
world. Rival versions are contending for spiritual and political dominance. This
conflict has serious costs and economic, social, political, and security implications
for the rest of the world. Consequently, the West is making an increased
effort to come to terms with, to understand, and to influence the outcome of
this struggle.
Clearly, the United States, the modern industrialized world, and indeed the
international community as a whole would prefer an Islamic world that is compatible
with the rest of the system: democratic, economically viable, politically
stable, socially progressive, and follows the rules and norms of international
conduct. They also want to prevent a “clash of civilizations” in all of its possible
variants—from increased domestic unrest caused by conflicts between Muslim
minorities and “native” populations in the West to increased militancy across
the Muslim world and its consequences, instability and terrorism.
It therefore seems judicious to encourage the elements within the Islamic mix
that are most compatible with global peace and the international community
and that are friendly to democracy and modernity. However, correctly identifying
these elements and finding the most suitable way to cooperate with them is
not always easy.
Islam’s current crisis has two main components: a failure to thrive and a loss of
connection to the global mainstream. The Islamic world has been marked by a
long period of backwardness and comparative powerlessness; many different
solutions, such as nationalism, pan-Arabism, Arab socialism, and Islamic revolution,
have been attempted without success, and this has led to frustration and
anger. At the same time, the Islamic world has fallen out of step with contemporary
global culture, an uncomfortable situation for both sides.
Muslims disagree on what to do about this, and they disagree on what their
society ultimately should look like. We can distinguish four essential positions:
x Civil Democratic Islam: Partners, Resources, and Strategies
• Fundamentalists reject democratic values and contemporary Western culture.
They want an authoritarian, puritanical state that will implement their
extreme view of Islamic law and morality. They are willing to use innovation
and modern technology to achieve that goal.
• Traditionalists want a conservative society. They are suspicious of
modernity, innovation, and change.
• Modernists want the Islamic world to become part of global modernity.
They want to modernize and reform Islam to bring it into line with the age.
• Secularists want the Islamic world to accept a division of church and state
in the manner of Western industrial democracies, with religion relegated to
the private sphere.
These groups hold distinctly different positions on essential issues that have
become contentious in the Islamic world today, including political and individual
freedom, education, the status of women, criminal justice, the legitimacy of
reform and change, and attitudes toward the West.
The fundamentalists are hostile to the West and to the United States in particular
and are intent, to varying degrees, on damaging and destroying democratic
modernity. Supporting them is not an option, except for transitory tactical
considerations. The traditionalists generally hold more moderate views, but
there are significant differences between different groups of traditionalists.
Some are close to the fundamentalists. None wholeheartedly embraces modern
democracy and the culture and values of modernity and, at best, can only make
an uneasy peace with them.
The modernists and secularists are closest to the West in terms of values and
policies. However, they are generally in a weaker position than the other
groups, lacking powerful backing, financial resources, an effective infrastructure,
and a public platform. The secularists, besides sometimes being unacceptable
as allies on the basis of their broader ideological affiliation, also have
trouble addressing the traditional sector of an Islamic audience.
Traditional orthodox Islam contains democratic elements that can be used to
counter the repressive, authoritarian Islam of the fundamentalists, but it is not
suited to be the primary vehicle of democratic Islam. That role falls to the
Islamic modernists, whose effectiveness, however, has been limited by a number
of constraints, which this report will explore.
To encourage positive change in the Islamic world toward greater democracy,
modernity, and compatibility with the contemporary international world order,
the United States and the West need to consider very carefully which elements,
trends, and forces within Islam they intend to strengthen; what the goals and
Summary xi
values of their various potential allies and protégés really are; and what the
broader consequences of advancing their respective agendas are likely to be. A
mixed approach composed of the following elements is likely to be the most
effective:
• Support the modernists first:
— Publish and distribute their works at subsidized cost.
— Encourage them to write for mass audiences and for youth.
— Introduce their views into the curriculum of Islamic education.
— Give them a public platform.
— Make their opinions and judgments on fundamental questions of religious
interpretation available to a mass audience in competition with
those of the fundamentalists and traditionalists, who have Web sites,
publishing houses, schools, institutes, and many other vehicles for disseminating
their views.
— Position secularism and modernism as a “counterculture” option for
disaffected Islamic youth.
— Facilitate and encourage an awareness of their pre- and non-Islamic
history and culture, in the media and the curricula of relevant countries.
— Assist in the development of independent civic organizations, to promote
civic culture and provide a space for ordinary citizens to educate
themselves about the political process and to articulate their views.
• Support the traditionalists against the fundamentalists:
— Publicize traditionalist criticism of fundamentalist violence and extremism;
encourage disagreements between traditionalists and fundamentalists.
— Discourage alliances between traditionalists and fundamentalists.
— Encourage cooperation between modernists and the traditionalists who
are closer to the modernist end of the spectrum.
— Where appropriate, educate the traditionalists to equip them better for
debates against fundamentalists. Fundamentalists are often rhetorically
superior, while traditionalists practice a politically inarticulate “folk
Islam.” In such places as Central Asia, they may need to be educated
and trained in orthodox Islam to be able to stand their ground.
— Increase the presence and profile of modernists in traditionalist institutions.
xii Civil Democratic Islam: Partners, Resources, and Strategies
— Discriminate between different sectors of traditionalism. Encourage
those with a greater affinity to modernism, such as the Hanafi law
school, versus others. Encourage them to issue religious opinions and
popularize these to weaken the authority of backward Wahhabiinspired
religious rulings. This relates to funding: Wahhabi money goes
to the support of the conservative Hanbali school. It also relates to
knowledge: More-backward parts of the Muslim world are not aware of
advances in the application and interpretation of Islamic law.
— Encourage the popularity and acceptance of Sufism.
• Confront and oppose the fundamentalists:
— Challenge their interpretation of Islam and expose inaccuracies.
— Reveal their linkages to illegal groups and activities.
— Publicize the consequences of their violent acts.
— Demonstrate their inability to rule, to achieve positive development of
their countries and communities.
— Address these messages especially to young people, to pious traditionalist
populations, to Muslim minorities in the West, and to women.
— Avoid showing respect or admiration for the violent feats of fundamentalist
extremists and terrorists. Cast them as disturbed and cowardly,
not as evil heroes.
— Encourage journalists to investigate issues of corruption, hypocrisy, and
immorality in fundamentalist and terrorist circles.
— Encourage divisions among fundamentalists.
• Selectively support secularists:
— Encourage recognition of fundamentalism as a shared enemy, discourage
secularist alliance with anti-U.S. forces on such grounds as
nationalism and leftist ideology.
— Support the idea that religion and the state can be separate in Islam too
and that this does not endanger the faith but, in fact, may strengthen it.
Whichever approach or mix of approaches is chosen, we recommend that it be
done with careful deliberation, in knowledge of the symbolic weight of certain
issues; the meaning likely to be assigned to the alignment of U.S. policymakers
with particular positions on these issues; the consequences of these alignments
for other Islamic actors, including the risk of endangering or discrediting the
very groups and people we are seeking to help; and the opportunity costs and
possible unintended consequences of affiliations and postures that may seem
appropriate in the short term.

British Muslim at Cross Roads!

Asslamo Allaikum,

I am in a hurry so will be brief about what I am trying to say….I think this is a SUPERB opportunity for Brothers/Sisters at Green Lane & UKIM!

A bit of a background first of the two institutions mentioned on the TV program:
1) Green Lane Mosque is one of the many mosques run by Markazi Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith UK (http://www.mjah.org/) guided and run principally by a scholar in the name of Maulana Abdul Hadi
2) The UK Islamic Mission (http://www.ukim.org/DesktopDefault.aspx) is a national organisation with over 40 branches and Islamic Centres working across the United Kingdom. The UK Islamic Mission formed in the early 1960’s, and its principle scholar in Birmingham is Maulana Sarfaraz Madani
3) Both of these scholars know each other well & participate in many Islamic forums and programs together (i.e. moon sighting, community affairs etc.)

Global links of the 2 organisations:
1) Markazi Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith UK is linked to Jamiat Ahle-Hadith (Delhi, India) & Markaz Dawah-Wal-Irshad (former Lashkar-Tayyiba) [Mureedke, Pakistan] (http://www.jamatdawa.org/
2) UKIM is linked to Jamate-Islami (Delhi, India) & Jamate-Islami (Mansura, Pakistan) (http://www.jamaat.org/)

I am not suggesting that these links are solid i.e. that the UK organisations are subsidiary rather I am suggesting that they have spiritual and theoretical links as scholars from the organisations (particularly Pakistan) often visit and vice versa

Global co-operation of the 2 organisations:
1) In India both of the “Parent Organisations” cooperate closely and are linked under the “All India Muslim Personal Law Board) http://www.aimplboard.org/. They work together and very effectively for the betterment of Indian Muslims (who are a minority in India like the UK)
2) In Pakistan; both “Parent Organisations” are part of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) an alliance of religious organizations who took part in the last election together (as 1 group

Problems in the UK:
1) For some reason in the UK the cooperation is not as close as it should have been; as evident that both groups have issued separate press statements about the TV programs rather then a joint one in unison
2) Brothers/Sisters belonging to Green Lane Mosque generally regard UKIM Brothers/Sisters as political, Qutbee (ideas relating to Syed Qutb (RA) and weak on Qur’aan and Sunnah implicitly if not explicitly; versus Brothers/Sisters belonging to UKIM generally regard Brothers/Sisters belonging to Green Lane Mosque as too rigid & so on implicitly if not explicitly. I believe that both sides are slightly mistaken as for the Brothers/Sisters belonging to Green Lane Mosque should see the opinion of Saudi scholars on Syed Qutb (RA) as it also contains the opinion of Shaykh Bin Baaz (RA); however please note that the positions of Syed Qutb (RA) & Maulana Maududi (RA) are similar but not the same and to term UKIM as Qutbee is inaccuarte. Brothers/Sisters belonging to UKIM should be well advised to read up the ideas of Maulana Maududi (RA) as his Aqeedah was of Salaf and he was staunchly against “Blind following a Madhab”

In the light of this message & links between the two organisations I believe that Maulana Abdul Hadi & Maulana Sarfaraz Madani should get together & issue a joint statement on this subject; as a matter of fact I suggest all UK Islamic organisations to join them in such blatant twisting of truth! In the absence of the two scholars getting together I believe that Brothers/Sisters from both organisations should study the links which exist overseas (India & Pakistan); bury the hatchet & rise up in 1 voice.

This is a critical juncture for the Muslims of UK & Allah (SWT) has granted an opportunity to the Brothers/Sisters of Green Lane & UKIM; lead the way & don’t squander the opportunity.

For the record I don’t belong to either Green Lane or UKIM; just a concerned Muslim with his thoughts! I do believe that someone needs to come out with open arms, heart and minds and I do sincerely hope that its these two organisations because I like them both!
Jazakullah Khairun

Legal Verdict Regarding Sayyid Qutb
Ibn Jibreen
Article ID: 23 | 1717 Reads

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Office of the Presidency of Islamic Research and Legal
Verdicts
Question:
Some youth call Shaykh Sayyid Qutb a heretic and prohibit the reading of his books, and they say a similar statement regarding Hasan al-Banna, as they also say regarding some of the scholars that they are Khawarij. Their argument is that [they do this] in order to 'expose the errors [of these men] to the people,'. even though [these youth] are until now [only] students [of knowledge]. I hope for a response so that doubt may be removed from us and others, [and] so that this [phenomenon] will not spread.
Response:
All praise belongs to Allah alone. To proceed: It is impermissible to [unjustly] call the Muslims heretics or wicked as is evidenced by the statement of the Prophet SAW "Whoever says to his brother 'O enemy of Allah,' and he is not such but that it returns back to him." While in [another] hadith 'Whoever calls a Muslim an infidel it returns back to one of them.' While in another hadith: "A man passed by another while he was doing a sin and he said to him, 'By Allah, Allah will not forgive you.' So [Allah] said: 'Who is he who can pass judgment on my behalf that I will not forgive so and so, I have forgiven him and have nullified your deeds.'"
With this I say, Sayyid Qutb and Hasan al-Banna are among the scholars of the Muslims and among the people of da'wa. Allah has brought benefit by them and through them He has guided many people. They both have efforts [for Islam] which should not be denied. For this reason Shaikh Abdul-Aziz ibn Baz interceded on behalf of Sayyid Qutb when the order for his execution was given. [Ibn Baz] was gentle in his intercession, but President Gamal [Abdel Nasser] did not accept [Ibn Baz's] intercession, may Allah send upon him [i.e. Abdel Nasser] what he deserves. When both men [i.e Hasan al-Banna & Sayyid Qutb] were killed, each was referred
to as a martyr, as each was killed unjustly. This is borne witness to by those close [to them] as well as by the general public. As it was widely spread in the papers and books without anyone ever objecting. Moreover, the scholars have received their books [with acceptance]. No one has attacked them for more than the [last] twenty years. If some [heresy proceeded] from them, then [these mistakes] are
similar to an-Nawawi, as-Suyuti, Ibn al-Jawzi, Ibn 'Atiyah, al-Khatabi, al-Qastalani and the likes of many of them. I have read what Shaikh Rabi al-Madkhali has written in his refutation of Sayyid Qutb and I found that he has placed statements where they do not exist. For this reason Shaikh Bakr Abu Zaid, may Allah perserve him, refuted him. Likewise, [al-Madkhali's] unjust attacks of Shaikh 'Abdur-Rahman ['Abdul-Khaaliq] and his [twisting 'Abdur-Rahman 'Abdul-Khaaliq's words] in order to find errors which would make ['Abdur-Rahman 'Abdul-Khaaliq appear] misguided, even though [Shaikh Rabi] befriended him for a lengthy period of time and he never found any such errors [in the past].
And the eye of pleasure sees every fault insignificant,
But the eye of hatred always finds fault.

salaam,

a mosque, i believe is a place of worship for everyone, regardless of color or creed.

i never watched the dispatches programme fully but saw odd clips and heard what was said. i am local to green lane mosque and have been there a number of times when speeches have been held etc. however, i have had very bad experiences there and have not been to that mosque in the last two years. i dont like to say too much because i dont like to ponder on negativity and islam, but in a nutshell, a friend and i felt really isolated and unwelcome at the mosque. i wear hijaab but not the nikaab and sisters really looked down on us as we were not in nikaab or wearing gloves. i have little knowlegde but what i do know is that out prophet saw is the perfect of all examples and would never belittle or intimidate. i was shocked that sisters would only do salam to those dressed like them in all black, other sisters didnt even exist. asthagfirullah, but since, i hope inshAllah the atmosphere has changed. i have not been to the mosque since as i would not want the opportunity to comment negatively again. id rather steer away. anyone, feel free to reply

jazakAllah
regards

Yeah.

His speeches were totally taken out of context.

"You must live as a state within a state, until we take over!"

"They are all liars!"

What a lovely man.

If you do not like this country, or any other...go back and live where they cut off your hand if you take bread because you starve whilst your leaders preach hate, yet behind your backs trade in billions with the US. What a hypocrisy.

Hello trickster

Thanks for coming forward and saying what you think.

Did the police not investigate his speeches and found that were indeed taken out of context ?

Stealing to eat has no punishment in Islam. Indeed, the 2nd rightous khalifah (Omar) suspended this punishment in years of famine.

Muslims in the UK do not agree with parts of the UK law, same as any other individual. Are you telling me that you agree with all UK laws/government decisions ? I'm not suggesting that they should break these laws, but they should work to change it WITHIN the law.

Anyway ... all this is a diversion and we need to talk about the basics first .... do you believe in God ?
