Why Angry Protests? Islam Does Not Condone Violence and Calls for Patience!

Muslim Victims of Daily State Terror.
_39584395_muslimmourners.jpg

Islam is a forgiving religion, it does not condone the use of any unjust force, violence, racism or terrorism. Infact, Muslims must Strive Hard to Free people and destroy ALL forms of Oppression. This article is to simply put some light on the reality of Terrorism. Yes, there are a few extremists who claim to be "Muslim" and who do terrible things, but, there are greater terrors carried out by States and Regimes which go unheard of and unfortunately are the root cause for much of todays terrorism and anger.

Islam Totally forbids the use of violence against Civillians.
Allah, most high revealed the message of Islam to the Messenger Muhammad, may peace be upon him. It is a message to all of mankind. Islam rejects the use of force over Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Oppression is forbidden in our legislation, Islaam prohibits oppression. Allaah says in a Qudsee Hadeeth:
"O my servants, indeed I have prohibited oppression upon myself, and I have prohibited it amongst you so do not be oppressive."
The Prophet, may peace be upon him, said:
"Beware of the oppressed one's prayer, for indeed there is no veil between it and Allaah."

Furthermore, the blessed companion of the Prophet
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: A man asked the Prophet (PBUH) for an advice and he (PBUH) said, "Do not get angry". The man repeated that several times and he replied, "Do not get angry".
[Al-Bukhari]
So it is clear, that Islam calls for Muslims to live with moderation, to be just to all people and not to act in a way which is not civillised. Muslims are forbidden to take the law into their own hands and deal out punishments, retribution or revenge. If someone feels their rights have been violated, then they must address it through the law and legal framework of the state they are living in.

Therefore it is important to differentiate between the actions of a few angry mobs and the perfect religion of Islam.

Examining the Causes of the Anger

Anger may be seem "provoked" (or triggered) by perceived threats, like conflict, or by abstract concepts such as injustice, humiliation and betrayal among others.

So what about the Muslim people who you see reacting angrily on the media to the speech made by the pope and the cartoon's depicting the Prophet?

As we have talked about previously, Violence is something condemned in Islam, those people may call themselves Muslims, but their actions go against what Islam teaches. Their actions are born from anger, which we shall be discussing further on. Islam encourages the most perfect response for dealing with issues in a controlled and legitimate fashion.

Allah, the most high says in the Qur'an:

"Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the foolish." (Al-A`raaf 7:199)

For those people who critisise Islam and Muslims are Foolish. They are either ignorant of what is happening in the world, i.e. the Human rights abuses and state terrorism against Muslims, OR they know about these issues but have such hard and callous hearts that they refuse to accept that these crimes even take place. They have a close minded view on this world, they do not realise or care about the harships and suffering that others go through.

As Human beings, we must share our compassion for ALL people and give our time and effort in helping people who are in need. This is basics of humanity, and it is something that Muslims share.

Unfortunately, many people are unaware of the various human rights abuses and war crimes committed against millions of people throughout the world. We can call these crimes State Terror. The killing, abuse and torture of people must always be condemned no matter who commits these atrocities. If a Muslim commits them, then they are criminals and are doing something which is totally condemned in Islam. Likewise Christian and Jewish terrorists need to be held to account and treated as religious terrorism without giving their terrorism fancy names.

However, terrorism committed by Muslims is both miniscule and incomparable to the amount of destruction, carnage, horrific violence and humiliation committed by the biggest terrorists of them all. The State Terrorists.

We will deal directly with SOME of the hundreds of cases around the world..... So that you, the reader can be more informed about the world around you. We are asking people to have a heart, feelings of love and compassion for other people. This is all we want. If you can have some empathy for other people, then you will realise that this world is a very small place and that we as a human race must eradicate all forms of oppression.

For oppression fuels resentment which goes on to fuel a cycle of violence. It gives ground for the ignorant to have a voice. It is ignorance which makes people believe that Islam and Muslims are a threat, it is ignorance which makes people believe that by killing civillians in New York is a good action and it is ignorance which makes people justify the continued occupation and killing of tens of thousands of Muslims in countries around the world for various reasons. Many centuries ago it was a holy war, the crusades fought against Muslims, then we have had centuries of invasion and colonialism and today we have unjust wars, sponsorship of terrorism, military aid and alliances to racist
murderous states like Israel and a "war on terror" which is mostly targetting women and children.

Bombing countries and killing civillians in Afghanistan and Iraq is not the answer. This is just going to cause more resentment as it does NOT address the core underlying factors of why Terrorism happens. The issue of terrorism is indeed a complicated one, there are various definitions of this word and various situations and various sources. We can not justify the killing of civillians, but like any crime there are factors which help make the crime take place. Islam is definitely not a factor. It has everything to do with oppression, helplessness and a desire to take revenge. There is much confusion with regards the activities and histories of various places mentioned in the media.

And of course, leaders like Bush and Blair are taking YOU for a ride. They want you to believe that the problem is with Islam and Muslims. They do not want you to know that they are the biggest contributors of death and destruction. They do not want you to think that their actions cause the greatest anger, frustration and ultimately will recruit terrorists. Infact, Blair has lied many times and has even stated that the Iraq war has absolutely No effect on global terrorism.

Do you trust them? How can you when Most the people making the decisions and creating the wars have so much to gain? George W Bush, Condaleeza Rice, Richard Perle, Dick Cheney, Rumsfeld and others have much to gain from this war. They all have their hands in the oil business, arms trade, reconstruction business and so forth. Infact they all sit on the board of directors of many of the companies now in Iraq. The invasion was staged in such a way, that those who gave most support have their companies getting priority in contracts. Halliburton, whose CEO was Dick Cheney and is now Vice President, gained the largest reconstruction contracts $7billion worth. - US, UK Tax payers money!

So, not only do they gain mega bucks from the oil and gas deals, but from every single bullet fired, from every bomb dropped, from every bridge and road destroyed, they gain $$$ by killing, destroying and rebuilding.. a win win situation as long as it is not them or their kids sent there! So Whose the one who is losing? Certainly, The people they are invading, i.e. the Iraqis, the Afghans and the Muslims who are being targetted in the vicious campaign to villify Islam.

But, also the American and British soldiers who come from the most impoverished parts of their societies, who are made to risk their lives in order to make rich men even richer. Still wish to blame Muslims?

Below is a list of some of the hotspots mentioned in the media and the cruel state terrorism which goes on there against the Muslim population. We are talking of large scale terrorism and oppression of innocent people, the deaths and torture of 100,000s of people, which is allowed to continue happening for a simple reason. The people are poor and weak those carrying out the State terrorism are strong, powerful, rich in resources and have large monetary backing. Therefore our countries such as the US and UK never critisise or end relations with such states, and are infact themselves complicit in these crimes. Although, of course they have a history and notoriety of their own to contend with too!

Russian abuses against Muslims in Chechnya.

Interviews with Relatives of the “Disappeared” in Chechnya RealVideo, 6.1Mb

250,000 Chechen Muslims have been killed by the Russian Army. They routinely "sweep" towns and villages, arresting, detaining and executing young men. They are also known to use rape as a weapon against the people, and kidnap, beat and torture 1000s of civillians. Chechnya continues to be one of the largest human rights crisis in the world, where civilians are killed and “disappeared” on a daily basis as a result of the armed conflict.

You can read the full independent HRW Human Rights Watch report on FORCED DISAPPEARANCES, TORTURE, AND SUMMARY EXECUTIONS

Amnesty International also filed the following report:
Russian Soldiers Rape and torture Muslim Children in Chernokozovo "filtration camp"

" "Musa" witnessed a 14-year-old girl being raped by a dozen prison guards in the corridor outside the cells in which he and other detainees were held. The girl had come to visit her detained mother and for the price of 5,000 Rubles she was permitted a five-minute meeting. Her five-minute meeting became a four-day ordeal during which she was locked in a cell, beaten and repeatedly raped by guards.

"Musa" also told Amnesty International about a 16-year-old boy called Albert, originally from the village of Davydenko, who was brought to his cell after being gang-raped and severely beaten by prison guards. One of his ears had been cut off and the guards referred to him by the female name of "Maria". "Musa" believes that up to 10 men were raped in the camp during his 21-day detention.

"Musa" shared a cell for one week with Andrey Babitsky, the Radio Liberty journalist. Among his other cell mates during his 21-day detention, were a man whose hands had been severely burnt by prison guards with cigarette lighters and a 17-year-old youth whose teeth had been sawn off with a metal file and whose lips were shredded, leaving him unable to eat, drink or speak. "Musa" estimated that 10-15 new detainees were brought to the camp each day. Among those he saw were 13-14 year-old girls."

Read the following about the day to day violence Muslims face in Chechnya:
Amnesty International: Russian Federation: Continuing torture and rape in Chechnya

This is the REAL terrorism. Where everyday dozens of men, women and children are taken away never to be seen again. How does this not cause any anger or resentment in the world? and ask yourselves, is it right to allow these crimes to carry on?

Palestine

Israel continues to abuse Muslims and Christians in Palestine and Lebanon. It's a joke to think they are the victims here. They are the ethnic cleansers who purged and massacred their way to a state, they are a rogue nation who killed between 20 thousand and 40 thousand civilians in the Lebanon, who brutulise palestinians by a huge factor more than suicide bombers affect Israel. PROTECTING THIS BRAVE LITTLE DEMOCRACY is a ridiculous concept - because its not brave, its ruthless, its not little, it has the worlds 4th largest military, and its not a democracy, because it excludes half the effective electorate.

It continues to be supplied by monetary aid and weapons from the US and is further supported by the UK. These weapons are used for the indiscriminate killing of men, women and children. The excuse that these weapons are used for defence does not hold any ground whatsoever. 200 Palestinian Children have been shot dead by a single precisely aimed bullet to the head.

Infact, in one case a 13 year old Palestinian girl (Iman Darweesh Al Hams) on her way to school was shot 17x repeatedly. The events of the shooting were documented on video by an Israeli cameraman and screened on Israel's Channel 2 nationwide. According to the video, the soldiers of the Givati Brigade identified the victim as "a girl, about 10 years old" and that she was "scared to death" The Givati Brigade company commander "Captain R" is heard saying "We operated on her. Yes, it seems she has been hit." He later stated that he "verified" the killing, and then added "Anyone that moves in the zone, even if it is a 3-year-old boy, should be killed".

Shooting such a small and innocent 13 year old girl 17 times is an evil crime. It is state Terror. The parents and family who will bury their little girl, what have they left of her body. Do their feelings as fellow human beings count?

The Israeli soldier who killed her was later cleared of any wrong-doing, with the judge announcing that "confirming the kill is standard procedure."

This is terrorism, a terrorism which is allowed to carry on relentlessly, whilst Muslims are villified. So, is it difficult to understand why there may be resentment and frustration? Justice should be for ALL people.

There are many such cases, A 13-year-old was murdered with a bullet through the heart, a 5-year-old was shot in her face as she walked arm in arm with her 2-year-old sister. The body of Mazen Majid, aged 14, was riddled with 18 Israeli bullets as he and his family fled their bulldozed home.

Physicians for Human Rights USA state the following in their report:

"the pattern of injuries seen in many victims did not reflect IDF [Israel Defense Forces] use of firearms in life-threatening situations but rather indicated targeting solely for the purpose of wounding or killing.

..the high number of gunshots to the head; the volume of serious, disabling thigh injuries; the inappropriate firing of rubber bullets and rubber-coated steel bullets at close range; and the high proportion of Palestinian injuries and deaths." Click here for full report

Jenin deaths video implicates army

The BBC reported an Israeli tank firing a shell and killing small children.

"the footage shows a tank firing the first of two shells, at close range, at a group of civilians who are running away. The dead boys' father, Youssef Abu Aziz, told the BBC that they had gone outside to buy chocolate, thinking the Israeli curfew imposed on their city had been lifted.... "I thought there was no danger," says Mr Abu Aziz.
"Ahmad asked me for money because he wanted to buy a chocolate bar. I loved him and his brother so much. Ahmad was buried with the chocolate in his hand." " BBC NEWS

There is a long history of human rights abuse, war crimes and massacres against the Palestinian people. For further information you can look at the following documentary videos

Iraq

Western history in the abuse of Iraq and its people dates back to the early 20th Century when the British used Chemical weapons against the Iraqi and Kurdish people. Churchill, encouraged the use of chemical weapons against the Iraqi civillians. Winston Churchill, whom many in the West admire as a hero said "I do not understand this sqeamishness about the use of gas. I am strongly in favour of using poison gas against uncivilised tribes." - The gas was used on the poverty stricken people of Iraq, on men, women and children who were blinded, their faces and eyes were scorched by the chemicals, many died from asphyxiation. You can read more on the history of the use of chemical weapons on Iraqis and Kurds here> based on Excerpt from pages 179-181 of Simons, Geoff. *Iraq: From Summer to Saddam*.

The West also helped Saddam Hussein into power, and supplied him with chemical weapons. Infact, Rumsfeld was meeting with Saddam Hussein at the same time that he was using chemical weapons against the Kurds and Iranians. Saddam Hussein was a Baathist leader. A Secular leader who did not believe in God. He increasingly started using the banner of Islam during the 90s simply for political reasons, to get more support abroad. However, nobody seriously believed that the alcohol drinking and womanising Baathists were anything to do with Muslims. They were and still are disliked and unwelcome.

On the show 60 Minutes Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?

Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it.

A rough rendering of the preliminary estimate in a 1995 U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) report that 567,000 Iraqi children under the age of five had died as a result of the sanctions. U.S. policy objectives are worth the sacrifice of half a million Arab children. The price of human life matters very little to them. These US backed sanctions were the reason for the death of so many children.

The topic of sanctions is also often covered in a "Saddam Says" fashion. In fact, there are detailed reports on the deadly effects of sanctions that come from respected international health organizations and public health experts, not from the Iraqi government. For example, UNICEF published a report in August 1999 that found that sanctions against Iraq had contributed to the deaths of 500,000 children under five. Richard Garfield, a public health specialist at Columbia University, estimates that 350,000 children have died as a result of sanctions and the lingering effects of the 1991 Gulf War (The Nation, 12/6/01; ). To describe a death toll in this range as "thousands" is like saying that "dozens" of people died in the World Trade Center attacks.

Myths about the Iraq Coverage (pre-invasion)

And IRaq Now? Before the invasion had begun people were dying in Iraq, mainly due to the sanctions, and also due to the evil dictator Saddam Hussein, who was a key ally to the US, UK, France and Russia for many years, as was discussed previously. Now After the Third Gulf War (for the first was a US Supported war against Iran which led to the deaths of 100,000s on both sides), more people are dying and being tortured than under Saddam Husseins rule.

Torture and abuse of Iraqis is widespread
How easy is it to dismiss Abu Ghraib as the work of just a few soldiers, yet the same can not be said about Muslims?
Infact, this analogy is flawed because those who committed the torture in Abu Ghraib, and the British who have been beating Iraqis to death are all common occurences and part of the system implemented there.

What does the world's leading body on human rights (amnesty intl) have to say?

"The U.S. government is not only failing to take steps to eradicate torture, it is actually creating a climate in which torture and other ill-treatment can flourish," said Amnesty International USA Senior Deputy Director-General Curt Goering.

"The first time they subjected me to electric shocks I fainted for something like 40 seconds to one minute. It felt like falling from a building. I had a headache and was not able to walk," - Karim R. after his release from detention by the Iraqi Interior Ministry forces in May 2005.

This was not Karim R's first time in detention. A 47-year old imam and preacher (khatib), Karim R was detained by US forces in 2003 and then by Iraqi forces in 2005. On each occasion, he was subsequently released uncharged.

American Soldiers Admit to seeing Iraqi civillians being killed indiscriminately. Soldiers often kept spare Spades with them, so after they kill civillians they plant the spades on the dead bodies so that they can lie and say they were planting roadside bombs.

THere are also large scale human rights abuses in Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Indian Administered Kashmir, Parts of Pakistan, Thailand, Burma, Phillipines, Indonesia, North China (Xinjiang province), Sri Lanka. Many of those states are allies with the US and UK. They commit gross crimes against humanity and break the geneva convention many times over. Yet, our governments i.e. the US and UK are forever silent..

One example, (and i will try and keep this article as short as possible now), is that of Uzbekistan. Its run by a communist Islam hating dictator. He boils his opponents alive! Warning: This link contains shocking news story and images about this case.

Many young Muslim men are routinely arrested and then put in boiling water, their bodies dumped outside their family's houses. Craig Murray was the UK ambassador to Uzbekistan at that time. One day a mother of one of the men boiled alive came to his office and dropped an envelope containing photos of her poor son's boiled body on his desk. Craig Murray took action.

"My diplomatic colleagues took the view that because of Uzbekistan’s role as a close ally of the US in the war on terror we didn’t mention its human rights record. When I called on the French or German ambassador, for example, I’d say, ‘The things I’m seeing here are absolutely appalling.’ They explicitly stated that there was an understanding that we didn’t broach these things because of the US-Uzbek alliance. No one in London had said to me there was any such understanding: I was under no instruction from any British minister not to mention these things so I decided we would.

When I started to do things like go to the Khoudaiberganov trial, take notice of the photographs of Avazov and Azimov – who had been boiled to death – or get pathology reports - this was a tremendous ray of hope for the Uzbek human rights movement. Once people saw I took a genuine interest they started coming to me on a regular basis – particularly families of people arrested, tortured or wrongfully accused. We became a kind of focal point for the oppressed."

Craig Murray, complained and voiced his concerns over Uzbekistan's human rights record, What happened????? he was fired from his post by Tony Blair and made to go back to the UK.

UK removes Uzbekistan ambassador "The government has withdrawn Britain's ambassador to Uzbekistan, Craig Murray, who has been an outspoken critic of the regime's human rights record. "
This is the "War on Terror" before your very eyes. It will achieve nothing except create more misery and death.

Only by recognizing the real terrorism in the World. I.e. the State Terror is it possible to understand, and deal with, acts of terrorism and anger by groups and individuals which, however horrific, are tiny by comparison. Moreover, their source is inevitably the official terrorism for which there is no media language.

Dealing with the State Terrorism, which is being carried out by the strong against the weak, inevitably brings about terrorism, hatred and anger. It can never be justifiable to kill civillians.

Islam has no function in the creation of Terrorism. Terrorism is simply a tool, something that the most destitute will turn to. From analysing and researching the background to the major conflicts and witnessing the gross injustices in this world, it is not inconcievable that there will be some small groups of people who will be angered by comments made against Muslims and Islam. People are fed up of the hypocrisy and ignorance that is being shown towards Muslims. With so many human rights abuses which are not being addressed, the Danish newspaper printing the cartoons simply makes things not just worse, but creates further mistrust, alienation and resentment.

:salam2:

There's also Dr.Zakir Naik's book on this very same subject. It's called
"Islam and terrorism."

He cleared the misconceptions about Islam there. I thought of posting a column from his book. Here goes:-

"Question:

Why are most of the Muslims fundamentalists and terrorists?

Answer:

This question is often hurled at Muslims, either directly or indirectly, during any discussion on religion or world affairs. Muslim stereotypes are perpetuated in every form of the media accompanied by gross misinformation about Islam and Muslims. In fact, such misinformation and false propaganda often leads to discrimination and acts of violence against Muslims. A case in point is the anti-Muslim campaign in the American media following the Oklahoma bomb blast, where the press was quick to declare a ‘Middle Eastern conspiracy’ behind the attack. The culprit was later identified as a soldier from the American Armed Forces.

Let us analyze this allegation of ‘fundamentalism’ and ‘terrorism’:

1. Definition of the word ‘fundamentalist’

A fundamentalist is a person who follows and adheres to the fundamentals of the doctrine or theory he is following. For a person to be a good doctor, he should know, follow, and practise the fundamentals of medicine. In other words, he should be a fundamentalist in the field of medicine. For a person to be a good mathematician, he should know, follow and practise the fundamentals of mathematics. He should be a fundamentalist in the field of mathematics. For a person to be a good scientist, he should know, follow and practise the fundamentals of science. He should be a fundamentalist in the field of science.

2. Not all ‘fundamentalists’ are the same

One cannot paint all fundamentalists with the same brush. One cannot categorize all fundamentalists as either good or bad. Such a categorization of any fundamentalist will depend upon the field or activity in which he is a fundamentalist. A fundamentalist robber or thief causes harm to society and is therefore undesirable. A fundamentalist doctor, on the other hand, benefits society and earns much respect.

3. I am proud to be a Muslim fundamentalist

I am a fundamentalist Muslim who, by the grace of Allah, knows, follows and strives to practise the fundamentals of Islam. A true Muslim does not shy away from being a fundamentalist. I am proud to be a fundamentalist Muslim because, I know that the fundamentals of Islam are beneficial to humanity and the whole world. There is not a single fundamental of Islam that causes harm or is against the interests of the human race as a whole. Many people harbour misconceptions about Islam and consider several teachings of Islam to be unfair or improper. This is due to insufficient and incorrect knowledge of Islam. If one critically analyzes the teachings of Islam with an open mind, one cannot escape the fact that Islam is full of benefits both at the individual and collective levels.

4. Dictionary meaning of the word ‘fundamentalist’

According to Webster’s dictionary ‘fundamentalism’ was a movement in American Protestanism that arose in the earlier part of the 20th century. It was a reaction to modernism, and stressed the infallibility of the Bible, not only in matters of faith and morals but also as a literal historical record. It stressed on belief in the Bible as the literal word of God. Thus fundamentalism was a word initially used for a group of Christians who believed that the Bible was the verbatim word of God without any errors and mistakes.

According to the Oxford dictionary ‘fundamentalism’ means ‘strict maintenance of ancient or fundamental doctrines of any religion, especially Islam’.

Today the moment a person uses the word fundamentalist he thinks of a Muslim who is a terrorist.

5. Every Muslim should be a terrorist

Every Muslim should be a terrorist. A terrorist is a person who causes terror. The moment a robber sees a policeman he is terrified. A policeman is a terrorist for the robber. Similarly every Muslim should be a terrorist for the antisocial elements of society, such as thieves, dacoits and rapists. Whenever such an anti-social element sees a Muslim, he should be terrified. It is true that the word ‘terrorist’ is generally used for a person who causes terror among the common people. But a true Muslim should only be a terrorist to selective people i.e. anti-social elements, and not to the common innocent people. In fact a Muslim should be a source of peace for innocent people.

6. Different labels given to the same individual for the same action, i.e. ‘terrorist’ and ‘patriot’

Before India achieved independence from British rule, some freedom fighters of India who did not subscribe to non-violence were labeled as terrorists by the British government. The same individuals have been lauded by Indians for the same activities and hailed as ‘patriots’. Thus two different labels have been given to the same people for the same set of actions. One is calling him a terrorist while the other is calling him a patriot. Those who believed that Britain had a right to rule over India called these people terrorists, while those who were of the view that Britain had no right to rule India called them patriots and freedom fighters.

It is therefore important that before a person is judged, he is given a fair hearing. Both sides of the argument should be heard, the situation should be analyzed, and the reason and the intention of the person should be taken into account, and then the person can be judged accordingly.

7. Islam means peace

Islam is derived from the word ‘salaam’ which means peace. It is a religion of peace whose fundamentals teach its followers to maintain and promote peace throughout the world.

Thus every Muslim should be a fundamentalist i.e. he should follow the fundamentals of the Religion of Peace: Islam. He should be a terrorist only towards the antisocial elements in order to promote peace and justice in the society."
