Aslam Alaikum,

Dear brothers and sisters, it has been a litle while since I am going through this website and the stories of new muslims, and then I decided to join the community so that I could share my views. I am a university student, living in Canada, and was born as a muslim (Alhamdulilah). And to be honest what made me joined this comunity is an article in the post about shirk and bidah, which mentioned few aspects of shia islam. I believe the general views held about shia's are either based on the bias opinions, or the lack of knowledge. Most people think that shia's consider Ali a.s. whom to be worshiped along side Allah, which is totally wrong. I have not seen any shia who worships anyone but Allah. Not in my whole life I have seen any such thing, things that are ascribed to shia's and lead to heresy. It is the same as Christians hold the view that muslims worship Kaba, and you know better that you worship Kaba, or you worship Allah.

Dera brothers and sisters, what I am trying to say is that the truth is always unfolded when you want it to be unfolded. Please don't take anything for granted as it may lead to prejudice. Always be open to search the truth. Our beloved Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him and his progeny said, I am leaving you two things, The Qura'n, and my progeny, so that you may not go astray. So it is quite obvious that the right path is the path of Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him, and the Ahlal-Baiyat.

May Allah help us to follow the path of the most righteous ones.

Thanks, and nice day.

salaamualaikum
Dear Brother , Praying to other than Allah is worshipping them . this includes direct prayers and seeking intercession with Allah.
Like "Ya Ali Madad" , this is shirk with Allah .
There are many more hadith about what to follow , so many major sunni scholars where from Ahlul Bayt.

Dear brother by no means it is shirk to say ya Ali maddad, and what would you say if Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him, himself uttered the very phrase, when it was a time to conquer the Castle of Khyber, Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him asked Ali a.s. to help him, what would you say, was it shirk?

Ali radiallahuanhu has died , so has the prophet salallahualaihiwassalam. The dead are not like the living. The dead cannot help even themselves. Do not bring filmsy arguments to pray to other than Allah. Praying to the dead and seeking their help is the essence of shirk . The Qura'n is explicit in this regard .

I leave to you with words of converts on how they understand tawheed after reading the Qur'an.

Murad Hofman (http://www.salam.co.uk/themeofthemonth/june02_index.php?l=22)
He found the answer to this question in his third crucial experience when he came across the following verse of the Qur’an: “… no bearer of burdens shall bear the burdens of another.” (Qur’an 53:38). This verse opened up his eyes and provided the answer to his dilemma. Clearly and unambiguously for him, it rejected the ideas of the burden of "original sin” and the expectation of “intercession” by the saints. “A Muslim lives in a world without clergy and without religious hierarchy; when he prays he does not pray via Jesus, Mary, or other interceding saints, but directly to God – as a fully emancipated believer – and this is a religion free of mysteries.” According to Hofmann, “A Muslim is the emancipated believer par excellence".

This is tawheed of the Muslims .
