Salam sister,
I read somewhere that Purdah has nothing to do with Islam but is more to do with tradition.
I just wanted to know your thoughts on this.

well sister purdah has nothing to do with pakistani tredition.purdah from strangers outside the house is a part of tribal poeple over here in pakistan, but purdah from cousins is not bieng observed as a whole any where in pakistan, so it is solely for Allah.
As for tradition ,it has been changed since long long ago . it has nothing to do with tradition , if it would have a part of our tradition :subhanallah:
but its not .

AssalaamuAlaikum,
Pardah=Hijab. So hijab has nothing to do with Islam? Where are you coming from dude? Did you mean tight jeans and miniskirts are good? :D.
Pardah = Hijab = Jilbab = Shawl = Chadder (not chadder cheese) = viel = hide your body from strangers = Absolutely Islam.

Salam Virtualeye,
I was simply asking a question and you go and take it out of context.
"Where are you coming from dude? Did you mean tight jeans and miniskirts are good?"
I dont think any Muslim in their right mind would suggest tight jeans and miniskirts are good.
