I have really been into making jam for the last little while and I'd love to share my method with you all.

You will need:

16 ounces of FRESH strawberries (preferably ripe)

1/2 cup of sugar

1/2 large lemon or 1 small lemon

Method

1) Wash the strawberries, and then hull them (take off the green tops)

2) Put them into a blender and pulse until you have desired consistency. Leave pieces if you like or pulse all the way to smooth if you prefer your jam to be smooth

3) Transfer to a large (preferably heavy-based) saucepan and add the juice of the lemon

4) Add the sugar

5) Bring to the boil.

6) Turn the heat to medium until the bubbles fade

You will need containers or previous jam jars

These have to be sterilised.

1) Boil water in a kettle

2) Pour boiling water over the jars/containers

3) Dry thouroughly before pouring in the hot jam

Salam,

Thanks!

Sister Harb, I am also finding it hard to find fresh strawberries as we are officially out of season, but we do have them in larger supermarkets, which, luckily, is not too far from me.

Sister Aapa, I only know the method for the fresh strawberries, but I don't think you'll be able to use frozen because frozen fruits usually leave their own water and that'll probably ruin the recipe.
