I like to play and watch soccer (football), but it's hard to follow and watch in the US since the matches are always on when I'm in school.

You have to know cricket to understand..Anyway I am not such a big fan but still love the game.Its entertaining. I love football the most. But in cricket its nice because the 4's and 6's being hit. Diving to stop the ball. Catches. Batting strokes. There are some entertainers like Adam Gilchrist from Australia, Mahendra Dhoni from India, Gibbs from South Africa and so more. If you look at their batting, you will love it.

yep loving the football, but whats wrong with the premiership? most defences are so rubbish that theres like 5 goals in every match, thats what u want to see!! i know what u saying about transactions, Chelsea buys all the good players so no-one can have them, and THEN they dont know what to do with them.

Basketball is rubbish, you take 4 steps and then your on the other side, 2 steps if ur one of these humoungous beasts u guys call 'basketball players'. no wonder its fast.

But i want to complain about Golf, Darts, and Snooker.

I propa love football I could watch it all da time I lov watching da Champions League coz anything can happn cant wait wen it starts at da end of da month. Its funy da way dat Chealse hav all da money but chsing da best team by far in da Premeaship Manchester United. Football at times will be da way I chill out but on da oda hand it makes my blood presure rise big time. Also I am da only 1who is mad about football in my house and it drives my family mad. But I was more crazy about football b4 I have now calmd down a bit (only a bit).

I played soccer, tennis and badminton competitively during high school. Soccer and tennis would be ranked as my favourite two sports to PLAY.

I like to play rugby too with friends and watch the All Blacks play; and also like to watch cricket (though not very good at playing the game).

Well, those who say Cricket is slow should see the matches these days!! Unlike b4, the match is rather fast cuz we get to see many teams chasing huge totals and now we have this 20Twenty world cup( In India, I think it's due this year).....

and then when they hit the ball they like start running between the wickets or something, i have NO idea why... and the ball goes some distance or somthing and it has to do with something.

See there are patches in my understanding of cricket. and when i ask my father he just tells me it's too complicated for him to able to explain to me. :p

There are two guys in the middle.

One team, the one that is fielding, has to chuck the ball and try and hit the sticks.

1. If they hit the sticks, then the dude with the bat is out. 2. If the guy with the bad hits the ball in the air, and it is caught, they are out.

A team can only lose 10 batsmen, after that, the team has lost all their .. sticks .. and they have to go and field.

If the dudes (batsmen) run between the two sets of sticks, they get one point (run). If they manage to run twice after smacking the ball away, then they will get two points. If they are running, and somebody chucks the ball back and it hits those stick thingys (wickets), then one of the batter guys are OUT.

Actually, the USA is the only country that still calls it soccer (I think). NZ used to call it "soccer" till 2005 when the country officially started calling it "football", as the rest of the world, minus the States, call it football. Then again, we all know that the United States doesn't give a flying-fudge-cake what the rest of the world thinks.

However, for the muslim footy fans in England, and cos i got too much time on my hands i WILL copy and paste the history of football/soccer if need be, thus proving that the sport was invented by the English an named Football by the English.

Unashamed to admit that I actually played a lot of Field Hockey (instead of Cricket) in Pakistan; and we were made to work so hard by the coaches it hurt….My coach said that to paly 70 minutes; you have to be fit enough to last 140 minutes on the field....

He also said the day you guys vomit blood you can leave the field...Vomiting normally didn't really count.

I also know of a friend who was into badminton (in UK) and he also said that people puked during coaching sessions...Some coaches made you feel the pain...

I know that girls play Hockey in UK; so it’s a bit embarrassing; but I have been offered to play for our work team which is CO-ED and they have been looking for someone who played my position which is attacker on the left (you have to hold the hockey in the wrong position to feed corners)…

Ive never understood why though, Badminton, Hockey, Netball, Basketball, Rounders, I played all of them at some point, but never cricket or football or anything else considered to be for boys...is Golf for boys? I played golf (the most boring thing ever...it doesnt even qualify as a 'sport' in my opinion) and Horse Riding...:) my favourite sports!

At girls school they only did 'girls sports' which i think is utterly ridiculous, I think I missed out on alot of fun actually :(

During my younger days ,, i am a very active girl,,, i like field and tracks,, my fave was 100m/200m/400/800m,, played hockey ,,netball and even flying kites which is a rare thing for female to be indulged in ,, well i guess i was a tomboy then even played marbles and tops(gasing, the small type) with other boys hehehe, Now even to walk 50m i'll be breathless ,,sign of inactivity and old age
