Assalamu alaikum,

Masha Allaah Alhamdulillaah. I have heard of this news but never confirmed it. I hope his brother Michael would embrace Islam too. It's really weird because when I was a kid I was really a Michael Jackson fanatic and even hoped that one day he'll be Muslim and now his brother is. Insha Allaah Allaah swt would guide him.

Personally I think we should NOT be fascinated by his celebrity status...I think CELEBRITY reverts can do damage to Islam (as they often ignore Qur'aan and Sunnah); they are very few who I can think of & quote as an example...I know that it can be hard coming from such a background

If Allah (SWT) guides Michael it will be great & if NOT then its his loss & not Allah (SWT)'s or Ours (as Muslims) or Islam.

Lets react when he becomes Muslim; shall we.

Asssalamu alaykum,

I think the benefit is that the Media NEVER show Muslims in a good light. The Media were kinda forced into having interviews with Jermaine Jackson because of the public's fascination with him. Everyone called him the "Peace Keeper" whilst he was in the Celebrity Show Big Brother. They wanted to know why he was so calm and how he would mediate with other people and resolve their problems. And Alhamdulillah, it was due to his Islamic beliefs.

Obviously he is not a Scholar, he is a New Muslim. We shouldnt be judgemental if he does something wrong, as long as he doesnt claim those to be part of Islam.

:jazaak: for this video Brother Mabsoot. All Glory and Praise be to Allah (SWT), the Lord of Honour and Cherisher of the Worlds, who guided Jermaine Jackson and many other celebrities to Islam.

I hope one day the rest of the Jackson family embraces Islam by following Jermaine's example, and support each other in seeking the truth through the teachings of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah.

Allah (SWT) guides whom He wills and He knows best those who will be guided.

From Allah (SWT) we came... To Him we shall return.

May Allah (SWT) guide us, turn to us mercifully, protect us, forgive us and set right all our affairs. May He give us the opportunity of doing every kind of good deed and protect us against every kind of sin. O Allah! Please give us the strength to stand firmly on the path of righteousness.

Asssalamu alaykum,

Jermaine Jackson is a celebrity, Mohammad Ali is a celebrity, Cat Stevens is a celebrity, Malcolm X was a celebrity, Louis Farrakhan ... etc. Why should we get preoccupied by celebrities their status and that of Micheal Jackson? It appears from this discussion, now that certain celebrities embraced Islam their blind following fans will follow them into Islam. We heard that Jermaine has made d'awah to his brother and collectively we know only Allah (SWA) gives hidayaah. So our responsibility as Muslims is to go out there and make d'awah and not leave it to the celebrities to do our job for us.

My stand on musicians is that their wisperings are the wisperings from amongst men (see suah An'Nas) which detract from the message of Allah (SWA) which misleads the youth, which takes the place in our brains allocated for Qalam-Allam. Music should be avoided at all costs, in fact we aught to seek refuge from it constantly.

Here is a link of a group of Muslim rappers called "Native Deen"- Is this d'awah has been reduced to?

May Allah (SWT) guide and shower his mercy upon us, keep us conscious of our Islamic duties and give us the strength to carry them out and stand firmly in the path of righteousness and protect us against every kind of sin. - Insha-Allah Ameen.

It is good to know that Jermain converted to Islam, but it is sad to see that he practices Islam wrongly.:astag: Please do not forget, our best example to follow is Rasulu Allah, SAW. So, letīs make Dua that Allah shows Jermain and his unveiled wife the right path. Subhana Allah.....

Assalamu alaykum,

Najmoen, although I share with you your concern, nobody is getting preoccupied by celebrities here - on this website. Nor are we promoting his or anyone else's music. As far as I know, he has not said anything wrong about Islam in that video.

However, seeing as he was in the public view a lot in the UK, and with many people asking about his Religion, it was good that he spoke about Islam. This could have only been positive for Muslims as all other news was about the fabricated and exaggerated news about Muslims not integrating, and being terrorists etc.

Also, I would point out that Malcolm X was not a Celebrity, but a prominent Speaker for Human rights in the USA as part of the Civil Rights movement. Obviously that doesnt mean he was an Islamic Scholar or that we learn Islam from him. It does not matter if we mention these things, as long as nobody makes them to be Scholars.

Now we have ex-Taliban captured Journalists, Ex-Christian Preachers from the US and so forth made to give Islamic talks, that is wrong as they should not be doing what they are not qualified to do, it is the domain of the Ulema' and people who have properly studied Islam.

Alhumdulillah, that is awesome. I actually like seeing celebrity reverts because it can show up in the media, but I doubt they'll report the story in the correct light. I'm glad there's a video to actually confirm this because I probably wouldn't have believed it right away. Insha Allah Allah (swt) will guide him to implement the Qur'an and Sunnah correctly and may his journey be made easy for him.

I hope that Michael Jackson will Insha Allah see the TRUE Islam, rather than the group he is in now. Allah (swt) guides who he wills and Allah (swt) misguides who he wills. The best we can do is make du'a leave the rest to Allah.

Ditto to Br Mabsoot & Sister Hurul-ein...

Furthermore, there are lots of movie stars, ex-singers beginning to practise Islam throughout the Muslim world (sub-continent & Egypt in particular)...& I echo the words below (for celebrity Muslims beginning to practise or reverts)...

Jazakullah Khairun for putting it eloquently.

And I love israel so much, their food the people.. can you imagine him saying that? but whats the different between the two? nada, one is opressing Palestinian muslims the other Indian Muslims. Even if i loved a country involved in oppressing muslim I would keep it in my heart and not reveal it to the media, keep istpersonal but these people take the pressure of countries like india, bad PR for Kashmir casue good PR for Indian oppression. He should have said "I wouldn't go to India, as my muslims brothers are being oppressed by the government there". But the fact is that India is the in thing these days big market for the west. These celebrties have so much much more responsibility to represent islam than any normal muslim. Did you notice how he kept making the hindu prayer gestures.. those ignornat of islam must have quickly made a connection of his clasping his hands together with hindusim..must be thinking..yeah same religion as hindusim this islam is.

Over the few weeks, i've engaged in some precise dialect with a non-muslim of quran/bible ideas. One idea mentioned was the description of rasul and his view vs isa as. I've replied with quoting quran on how glorious both prophets are and their miracles. I've also replied with points that they've made in quran and bible, that they are only in this dunya to preach allah's word and allah's word only... Although i've been having this one problem where as to he asks for a physical description of rasul. I've done some research, and the only information i've come up with is that, rasul's physical description isn't described in quran because when people made portraits of these specific prophets, some people would take them for worship. This may only be a guess but isn't rasul's description like the one's of abraham and musa as??.. please help me clearify this so that not only i know this, but so that i can preach what's correct.

Brother Mohamed abdelaziz formerly known J. Jackson, I am deeply touched first by his conversion to islam and foremost by his way of expressing the inner peace and tranquility that he now enjoys. As muslims, we have been telling the non muslims that, this great faith, does not represent the violence that it is being constantly potrayed. On the contrary, it exalts and endears the blood of humanity whether it be muslim or non muslim. I, as a proud muslim, would like to express my deepest gratitude to Almighty Allah for guiding and showing the light to this wonderful and kind being , and also pray to Allah that he guides his brother Michael to the fold of islam.

Islam teaches us not to be judgemental as fair and true judgement is an attribute to the almight Allah. In my opinion, his celebrity status will greatly muslims as a lot of non muslims are these days being guided by the music media.consequently, they will be inquisitive as to why he opted out of his faith into islam and gain the true knowledge of islam. Rome is not built in a day and so is our brother Mohamed who may need more time to explore islam.

:wasalam: YA akhil kareem,
You are right but remember what ALLAH SAID TO THE HOLY PROPHET. ' WAD'U ILASABILI RABBIKA BIL HIKIMATI WAL MAUIZATIL HASANA'
Also, remember the historical incident that led the revelation of Q80.
While your argument that many celebrities do not adhere strictly to the sunnah may hold some water, you have to take into consideration the atmosphere and conditions inside which these people were living prior to embracing islam. No doubt, know that you will prefer that they accept Islam and practice it to a lesser degree than to remain in the state of wilderness.
secondly, FORGET NOT, the villager who visited the holy prophet and asserted that he will only do some acts and will not add to that anything.the prophet consented because of his level of iman. You wont believe that he (s.a.w) will say the same to his close companions.
In a nutshell, for people like us and perhaps you (my good brother), whom are meant to be in the west, we knew that embracing Islam alone make us completely over excited.

I am a new revert and I think that it can only be a positive circumstance when a celebrity openly embraces Islam, as it draws attention to the fact that Islam appeals to all kinds of people. When I watch these videos it inspires me more and reaffirms my faith and the fact that I made the right decision to revert Alhumdulillah. My own experiences with Islam such as watching these videos is what prompted me to revert back to Islam and it will continue to inspire others Inshallah. Asalaamu Alaikum,,,

This is my first post on this magnificent spectacular forum. First of all I'd like to thank you for this video, and for the Jermaine's brief story life. Subhanallah Islam spread all over the world. I really deeply touched for Jermaine's words, specially when he says "It makes me tears". It's a wonderful thing when you see famous people embrace Islam.

There are some questions I'd like to ask. Why does he wearing that golden thing around his neck ? Didn't he know that a male Muslim is forbidden from wearing golding things such as rings except if it's necessarily for the body like a golden tooth and so on. There's something I noticed in the first interview (The one with two hosts, the blond old lady and brown hair man) when they ask him about his meal, I think she said "You are a vegan, aren't you?" then he answered with "Yes.". Correct me if I'm wrong, but does he mean that he's a vegetarian or just meant to not eat pork?. Apparently he keeps mentioning about fasting and he loves it MashaAllah. Even there are other things I want to say, but I rather not.

I hope all famous non-Muslims embrace and became a completely Muslim InshaAllah (God Willing). Also I hope the rest of the Jackson family embrace Islam, and thank you again for this marvelous topic indeed :-)

NASIR :salam2:

Did u quote the verse correctly?

Here is an e-mail that one of my friends wrote about this issue:

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Did Michael Jackson die as a Muslim?

"The short answer? It’s hard to say.

The long answer? Initially it began with rumors years back that he had joined the Nation of Islam. On top of that, Jermaine Jackson, his brother, is a known and confirmed Sunni Muslim, which added another ingredient in the mix..."

However, let's not let this news be of something shocking as all of the Sons of Adam have an appointed time and this was his time. Rather, this should serve as a reminder to each and every single one of us.

How many of us predicted his time?
How many of us knew of this in the past?
How many of us knew his fate?
Did any of his children, money, or fame avail him at the time of death?

And SubhanAllah! we start thinking about others and forget that we are just as uncertain about our time as we were of his.

Know O Muslim! You have an appointed time with Allah (subhanawata'alaa), and the Angel of Death will pay us ALL a visit, regardless of our money, status, wishes, or plans. One of the righteous predecessor had said:

"The Angle of Death overlooked you to take the souls of your brothers. And one day he will come to you and overlook others".

Let us not let this world and all of its pleasures distract us from the purpose of our creation, which is to worship Allah (subhanawata'alaa). And once the Angel of Death comes for our soul, there will be no, "if's" or "buts" rather it will be only regret and humiliation for the one who was disobedient to his Lord and excitement and contentment for the one who used to fear his Lord. It is He who gave us life and will cause us to die and will again bring us out of our graves, and to him we shall return.

We should know and always remember that no matter how much wealth, status, big homes, and luxuries that one has, his time will come where he will enter that little black hole (the grave). Laa Haww wa La Quuwataa Ilaa Billah; from all the money, not a penny will help you, and none shall take your place, nothing will avail you except your Obedience to your Creator.

Allah (subhanawata'alaa) says in the Qur'an in Surah Takathur:
أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ (meaning): The mutual rivalry of piling up of worldly things diverts you! (from the remembrance of Allah)
حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ (meaning): Until you visit the Graves! (i.e. till you die!)
كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ (meaning): Nay! You shall come to know!

Allah, The Exalted and Most High, is telling us, we are too busy, piling up, gaining, accumulating and counting our money, wealth, luxuries, and forgetting Allah, while he is the one who has given us all this to test us. And Brothers and Sisters, we are failing the test.
UNTIL, we die and enter that little black hole, and it will be clear to us and regret will be on the faces who were too "busy" and arrogant to worship their Lord. And then we will know what is the reward or what is the punishment in accordance to what we used to do.

Ask yourself:
Are you too busy for Allah, while he has given all that you have?
Are you too arrogant to worship Allah, while he is the one who gave you life & will cause you to die?
Is five times daily Salaah too much, while you are blessed with blessings which cannot be enumerated?
Are you spending time on the TV, with sports, music, and friends, while you cannot spare 5 minutes for Allah?

No, Wallahi!

To Allah we Belong, and to Him we shall Return!

Let us all return to Allah (subhanawata'alaa), remember him with a much needed remembrance. Let us come back to Allah (subhanawata'alaa) and come back to the Salaah, because verily, it is the Salaah that differentiates the believer and non-believer. We ask Allah to accept our repentance and accept our deeds, and we seek refuge in Allah from the trials/temptations of this world and from the punishment of the grave.

"Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things.
Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving" [67:1-2]

Jazakallah Kher. I ask Allah to serve this as a reminder for myself and all the Muslim brothers and sisters, and may Allah help us to remember Him, thank Him, and worship Him in the best of manners.
