I am not muslim right now, but I believe in God and am trying to make my way to the correct path, which might be Islam.
Thank you

This forum is great. As a student interested in Islam, I would also suggest visiting a masjid, or mosqe. Watch us in prayer. I have never felt closer to Almighty God as that first time I humbled myself before Him in prayer as a Muslim. The wonderful thing about this is that this feeling has never left me.
As a religous student, you are probably fairly familiar with the Old and New Testaments. It is possible that because of your knowledge you will recognize Islam. It is a refinement and correction of earlier beliefs. Adam, Abraham, Isaac, David, Jesus (et al) , they are all here (peace be upon all of them).
I am still learning Qu'aran. I'm certain that one of my brothers or sisters here can give us the exact quote I'm looking for here. There are those from among the People of the Book that will recognize your deen because of their knowledge.
I'll make du'a (supplication, prayer) that Almighty God guides you. By the way, I used to ask why do we (Muslims) say "Allah" and not God when speaking in english. So hopefully I can give you this first bit of knowledge about this. We say Allah because in the Arabic language this word is descriptive ONLY of Almighty God. Think about it. People might say "Michael Jordan is really godlike out there on the court." , or "This baked alaska is simply divine." The name Allah describes nothing except Allah.
The point I'm trying to make is that much of our vocabulary may seem foreign.
But even us non native Arabic speakers use these words because they mean very specific concepts and religous principles. Arabic is much more subtle in its shadings than any language I've encountered. So, stay with us. If you encounter a word or concept that you do not understand, please ask any of us. We are more than happy to help.
