Salam aleykum wa Rahmatoullah wa Barakatou
Hope you're all doing fine . i just encourage you , all of you , to exercice regularly because that's what I do and it helps to feel better subhannalah, be less tired and refresh your ideas .
Prophet Muhamad ( saws ) encouraged his companions and all the muslims to be healthy. I personaly have a bench with weights in my room and every sunday I go running at the local park.
Hope you'll do the same soon , May ALLAh protect you guys

Salam.
This thread is not recieving enough attention :p
Muslims should already be healthier on average than the non-muslim as we do not drink alcohol. Honestly, we should all be really fit and buff if we lived and ate and worked like our Prophet (pbuh).
It has been recommended by many health practitioners around the world to have at least 30 mins of physical exercise everyday (walking does not count. Physical exercise = jogging, skipping, sport, etc).
salam aleykum
all that I'll write is about ladies!!!! ))
speaking frankly I like Sport. most of all cycling and swimming but after revert I have no condition to exercise in the way that I did and most of my muslim friends (they were in the volleyball team of my university even they can't play it coz lots of males) have the same prob.
here is horrible gender mix in my country!!! ((
May ALLAH help all muslims and make them healthy and stronger

Salam Sisters,
My masjid does a fitness class for women twice a week...I think this encourages us more to stay in shape and everything...I don't know if other muslims do this or what...but I think it's great.

:salam2: I hope everyone is in the best of health and fitness.........I suggest to all my muslim sisters to EXCERCISE!!!:SMILY346: :SMILY346: it's a Fun way for relieving stress, keeping fit and all in all feeling great......for those of you who prefer to stay at home due to being in hijab or whatever that's no excuse not to workout.Hey fix a schedule half an hour 3 days a week for an aerobics session.
All you need is comfortable clothing and a smooth surface ,starting firstly with Stretches(arms, neck, torso etc),abdominal (crunches,sit-ups,) leg lifts 10-15 repititions each, and about 100 star jumps.Skipping is the best form of working out it burns alot of calories and it's an all over body toner.......10 mins of skipping burns the same amount of calories than 20 mins of jogging.
Keep your self hydrated with 6-8 glasses of water a day, increase your intake of fibre rich foods which keeps you full and prevents the consumption of all those mouth watering snacks......and eat lots of fruits and veggies.
And for those sisters who don't mind the out doors, try jogging for 20 mins everyday or brisk walking half an hour start slowly and increase the time gradually .Remember before and after every workout to stretch your muscles and do a bit of warming up as this will help to prevent injuries to your body.
Take up a sport like volleyball,Badminton,Tennis. Everything we do should be in accordance to the laws of Islam and Inshallah it will be a benifit to us ...
We Muslimas gotta look good keep our selves fit .....don't think just cuz u do housework that's enough, nah you gotta get that body phisically fit so our spouses will be pleased when they look at us.I don't think the brothers want no overweight sista ain't i right,we are the ones who have to bring children into the world and for that we need lots physical energy so sistas get going Take my advice and keep fit and enjoy.......
Brothers u should also be doing the same i don't think the sisters would like overweight guys with a big gut lol i'm kidding here no offense here to any one ...The same way the sisters gotta look great for the spouse it's the same way on the other end.......
We should always keep in mind that to keep our selves fit and healthy we would be able to do more Ibaadah, strive for the sake of deen, and be a benifit to all around us Inshallah...........:wasalam:

I was actually thinking of going to the gym but I think muslimahindeen gave me a better cheaper option, membership fees and the registration fees are too expensive i would rather buy maybe a Jilbab and hijab a month than pay those fees and i have a park nearby, most times its deserted, so i might start jogging this weekend inshallah. i love jogging.
I love to play tennis as well I used to play it at school but I dont know where i can go and play where there are no men, any sisters have ideas, and also are there any sisters keep fit clubs anywhere in Birmingham

For me I find going to the gym {women gym} hard. also running at the park is not option for me, I like home gym well I use indoorbike whenever I have time from the kids, and I make them to play with me on excercise DVD they loved and I do the work. I think exercise DVD is veryhelpfull if you are a mother. and also you can't count on the weather ourside too, it might be rainy or wind snowy.

At the moment i try walking rely fast where ever I go even if I am not late by the time I reach my destination I am out of breath.
I would love to exercise more but because of health reasons I do not want to suddenly do it I would rather introduce the body slowly.
Like walking is a daily thing for me it is now a routine so now I am goin to do do some skipping in my room and put that into my routine.
I do not think it is any point in doin it all suddenly coz u do get tired try doin it slowly puttin it into a routine 1 thing at a time or even 2.
Hope we will all try at the least, Inshallah

:salam2: Sister you can continue your workout in the confines of your home or at a gym where there are all females .........It is not allowed for Muslim women to mingle with the opp sex (with the exception of those males which Islam has allowed )and to and to take off the Hijab in their presence ..... hey don't give up your workout cos it's good for your health and find some nice sisters to play Badminton ,hey i love Badminton lol

Asslamo Allaikum,
There is no one on the roads at Faj'r & around Esha.
Incidentally Faj'r is also the time when your body burns the most FAT!

This is definitely a good idea, mashallah. We all need to stay in shape, and when you do, it makes you feel so much better. I dont think diets work, just eat right and exercise, Alhamdullilah. May Allah help us to stay fit, Ameen!:tti_sister:

Sorry.
there is a story behind the name(well not my story)
im not a good story teller but here it goes
at the time of Rasullula(SAW)
the Muslims were in a clash with the non-mulims(crusader)
the men left for war n the women were left behind,
the crusaders didnt attack the men but went for the women
n there was one woman who stood up to them n she was nicknamed afterwards the vieled knight

I am up at Fajr and Isha I also work night shift so my exercise regime has had to be taken off the to do list, I do Salah 5 times but I live where there are few other sisters and the gym does not have a ladies only policy any more so looks like .... I'll be stepping on my stepper or working out on my floor .....

Salaam,
I usually work out 3x a week at a local gym. Usually doing bench press and dumb bells. Try to get big you know :SMILY346: Then I get my cardio from playing basketball and jump roping. Exercise is not just to look good but to stay healthy as well. Just like how the brain gets it's exercise (i.e. reading, acquiring knowledge) the body needs exercise too.
