Memorise Essential Supplications

Assalaamu'Alaykum wa'Rahmatullaahi wa'Barakatuhu,

I created this thread for the purpose of memorising essential supplications whether it be in the prayer or when leaving the home.

First of all, Jazaaka'Allaahu Khayr to brother alkathiri for the link to the text and audio of Hisn-ul-Muslim (Fortress of the Muslim). (It was from one of his old posts and it was in my bookmarks.)

Insha'Allaah, it is easier for brothers and sisters to memorise these supplications now.

If there are any mistakes in the audio then please inform me via PM.

The way I have done this is simple,

The supplications that are longer I have split them up as 'Line 1, Line 2' and so on, so you will be able to memorise them easily. I have provided a full version of each supplication for those who prefer it that way.

This thread will remain closed because I will be adding more supplications Insha'Allaah. When it is complete I will re-open it.

May Allaah bestow upon us beneficial knowledge. Ameen.

(I seek Refuge with Allaah from Satan, the outcast.)

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ

مَـٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٲطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

صِرَٲطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the 'Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).

The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)

You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything).

Guide us to the Straight Way.

The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).

سُوۡرَةُ الإخلاص

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ


قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ (١)

ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ (٢)

لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ (٣)

وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُ ۥ ڪُفُوًا أَحَدُۢ (٤)

Say (O Muhammad (SAW)): "He is Allâh, (the) One.

"Allâh-us-Samad (السيد الذي يصمد إليه في الحاجات) [Allâh the Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, (He neither eats nor drinks)].

"He begets not, nor was He begotten;[]

"And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him."

سُوۡرَةُ الفَلَق

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ


قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡفَلَقِ (١)

مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ (٢)

وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ (٣)

وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَـٰتِ فِى ٱلۡعُقَدِ (٤)

وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ (٥)

Say: "I seek refuge with (Allâh) the Lord of the daybreak,

"From the evil of what He has created;

"And from the evil of the darkening (night) as it comes with its darkness; (or the moon as it sets or goes away)

"And from the evil of those who practise witchcrafts when they blow in the knots,

"And from the evil of the envier when he envies."

سُوۡرَةُ النَّاس

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ


قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ (١)

مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ (٢)

إِلَـٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ (٣)

مِن شَرِّ ٱلۡوَسۡوَاسِ ٱلۡخَنَّاسِ (٤)

ٱلَّذِى يُوَسۡوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ
(٥)

مِنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ (٦)

Say: "I seek refuge with (Allâh) the Lord of mankind,

"The King of mankind,

"The Ilâh (God) of mankind,

"From the evil of the whisperer (devil who whispers evil in the hearts of men) who withdraws (from his whispering in one's heart after one remembers Allâh)

"Who whispers in the breasts of mankind,

"Of jinn and men."

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡحَىُّ ٱلۡقَيُّومُۚ

لَا تَأۡخُذُهُ ۥ سِنَةٌ۬ وَلَا نَوۡمٌ۬ۚ

لَّهُ ۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ

مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشۡفَعُ عِندَهُ ۥۤ إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِهِۦۚ

يَعۡلَمُ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡۖ

وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىۡءٍ۬ مِّنۡ عِلۡمِهِۦۤ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَۚ

وَسِعَ كُرۡسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَۖ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُ ۥ حِفۡظُهُمَاۚ

وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِىُّ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ

Allâh! Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists.

Neither slumber, nor sleep overtake Him.

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission?

He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter .

And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursî[] extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them.

And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

[This Verse 2:255 is called Ayat-ul-Kursî.]

Allaahumma inni astakheeruka bi ‘ilmika wa astaqdiruka bi qudratika wa as’aluka min fadlika, fa innaka taqdiru wa laa aqdir, wa ta’lamu wa laa a’lam, wa anta ‘allaam al-ghuyoob. Allaahumma fa in kunta ta’lamu haadha’l-amra (then the matter should be mentioned by name) khayran li fi ‘aajil amri wa aajilihi (or: fi deeni wa ma’aashi wa ‘aaqibati amri) faqdurhu li wa yassirhu li thumma baarik li fihi. Allaahumma wa in kunta ta’lamu annahu sharrun li fi deeni wa ma’aashi wa ‘aaqibati amri (or: fi ‘aajili amri wa aajilihi) fasrifni ‘anhu [wasrafhu ‘anni] waqdur li al-khayr haythu kaana thumma radini bihi

O Allaah, I seek Your guidance [in making a choice] by virtue of Your knowledge, and I seek ability by virtue of Your power, and I ask You of Your great bounty. You have power, I have none. And You know, I know not. You are the Knower of hidden things. O Allaah, if in Your knowledge, this matter (then it should be mentioned by name) is good for me both in this world and in the Hereafter (or: in my religion, my livelihood and my affairs), then ordain it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if in Your knowledge it is bad for me and for my religion, my livelihood and my affairs (or: for me both in this world and the next), then turn me away from it, [and turn it away from me], and ordain for me the good wherever it may be and make me pleased with it.”

ءَامَنَ ٱلرَّسُولُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡهِ مِن رَّبِّهِۦ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَۚ

كُلٌّ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَتِهِۦ وَكُتُبِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٍ۬ مِّن رُّسُلِهِۦۚ

وَقَالُواْ سَمِعۡنَا وَأَطَعۡنَا*!ۖ غُفۡرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ

The Messenger (Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him) believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers.

Each one believes in Allâh, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. (They say), "We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers"

And they say, "We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all)."




لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفۡسًا إِلَّا وُسۡعَهَاۚ

لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتۡ وَعَلَيۡہَا مَا ٱكۡتَسَبَتۡۗ

رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذۡنَآ إِن نَّسِينَآ أَوۡ
أَخۡطَأۡنَاۚ

رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحۡمِلۡ عَلَيۡنَآ إِصۡرً۬ا كَمَا حَمَلۡتَهُ ۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِنَاۚ

رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلۡنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِۦۖ

وَٱعۡفُ عَنَّا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَٱرۡحَمۡنَآۚ

أَنتَ مَوۡلَٮٰنَا فَٱنصُرۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡڪَـٰفِرِينَ


Allâh burdens not a person beyond his scope.

He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned,
and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned.

"Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us (Jews and Christians);

Our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear.

Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us.

You are our Maulâ (Patron, Supporter and Protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people."

Insha'Allaah, soon I will use the link you gave and use the Arabic, transliteration and translation.. (Wish I had come across the book on Google Books earlier).
