I guess
The farmer takes the chicken across first and leave the fox and the corn.
Then goes back and takes the corn across and lets the chicken ride with him to get the fox
Then he takes the fox and leaves the chicken alone
After he drops the fox off on the other side with the corn he goes back to get the chicken again.

ok heres another riddle:
An Archeaologist finds a coin with the inscription "King Henry I" on it.
It also is dated back to that era.
He was overjoyed with his find which he assumed was worth millions.
He showed it to another one of his archeaologist friends who also agreed to it being a rare find.
Walking down the street they passed by an elderly man who they showed the coin in their happiness,
Upon viewing the coin the man immediately said "it's a fake!"
How could the man tell?

Give julie, thomas, adrian and martin a seat on the bench, keeping in mind the following conditions:-
-Martin does not want to sit next to Adrian.
-Thomas does not want to sit next to Julie.
-Adrian does not want to sit next to julie.
In which order will you seat them?

well done amirah your answer is correct:
At the time of king henry the coins would have been inscribed with 'King Henry', NOT King Henry 1. He was only called King Henry 1 once there was another King Henry to differentiate between the two!
heres another riddle: (i like this one)
Two friends were leaving a restaurant and as they passed the cashier, one of them paid his bill but the other friend handed the cashier a slip of paper with the number 1004180 written on it.
The cashier studied the number for a moment, then let the friend pass by without paying... Why?

amirah80

:salam2:
Not really! lol
But thx sis. The only way I got the last one was by the hint and the previous comment you made. When you said king Henry I was not on a coin. and she said that was wrong. So they let me know there was one. The she said look at the inscription when I asked for a hint. The only thing that could be missing is "I" beacause of course not King I or Henry I so the only solution is remove the I. :) Notice for Details I did not provide any :)
But, you are good too mashallah.
And this number riddle that you just solved I have no idea:girl3: and still do not. :) Can you explain for me?
munawarah
10-02-2008, 11:30 AM
explanation for the restuarant:
1004180:

hope you understand it!!!

heres another riddle for you guyss to solve:
Jed lived alone in a remote house. Since Jed never left his house it was necessary to have his supplies delivered every two weeks. One dark and stormy night, Jed lost control of his senses, turned off all the lights, and went to sleep. The next morning it was discovered that Jed's actions resulted in the deaths of several people. Why?
its quite easy.

...woah....this doesn't seem easy to me...Maybe he shut off some street lights near his place..but that wouldn't kill people  .....
Ok while we're concentrating on your riddle munawarah, here're some more:
1)A house and a jail on the same street catch fire. Which place's fire will the ambulance put out first? ...
Pretty basic :D:D:D:D
2)Some sing this tune everyday, people around the singer can hear this tune but he himself can never hear it.What is this tune?

Ok munawarah thx for explaining I got it! That one is cute.
Ok for the next one.
Since he lived in a remote house when he shut off the lights it triggered something to ignite outside that blew up and killed several people? maybe!lol
Believer let me think on those :)
Edit*
1. Neither, a ambulance does not put of fires. :)
2. I do not know

:D amirah, your answer for the first one is correct :) ..... I laughed my head off when I was typing the riddle :D :D :D :D
About the second one, it's very easy..... think, there's some sort of sound or tune that a person makes...he himself cannot hear it, but the people around him can.
munawarah
10-03-2008, 01:34 PM
hmmm... the answer to believers second riddle is a sleeping man,

OK, this is one of the greatest treasures in the world, if used wrongly, it can be disastrous .... this treasure is increasing day by day ...... if someone steals it from you, it may not harm you, it won't cause a loss for you, though it will be a benefit for the one who gains it.... see, by treasure, i don't necessarily mean jewels and money :D ...
OK............ let's make it TOOO easy, the world is advancing day by day because of this treasure ... :D ....there, I've almost given u the answer :D

the ball has a message written on it (saying:im stuck in this room, help),
give the ball to the bat(as in the animal!),
let the bat fly out the room through the chimney,
bat gives the ball to 'someone'.
'someone' frees you!!

You may turn the switches any way you want to. You stop turning the switches, enter the room and know which switch controls the lightbulb. How?
hope this is better
good luck

Just turn one of the switches on and leave the other two in off position,do it thrice...whichever switch makes the lightbulb glow that switch controlls the lightbulb :D

Ok here's a new one from my side::
A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three
rooms. The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of
assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't
eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?

jazakallah, i can post easier riddles but then there is no challenge!!
well done kashif nazeer, your answer is correct =)
the answer to your riddle is:
i'd choose the room with the assasins with guns because one shot to the heart or brain will end the murderer life without pain!
i'm not sur though!

riddle:
Suppose you want to send in the mail a valuable object to a friend. You have a box which is big enough to hold the object. The box has a locking ring which is large enough to have a lock attached and you have several locks with keys. However, your friend does not have the key to any lock that you have. You cannot send the key in an unlocked box since it may be stolen or copied. How do you send the valuable object, locked, to your friend - so it may be opened by your friend?

:salam2:
I think if the locking ring is big enough to have two locks attached...u can send the box locked(having your lock). Now when the box reaches your friend he or she can put another lock on it and mail it back to you. Then you can take your lock off the box and send it back to your friend with his or her lock on it.
A bit expensive procedure i think...may still be feasible considering the value of the object that you have to send...lolz

Here are some REALLY tough riddles!
A large truck is crossing a bridge 1 mile long. The bridge can only hold 14000 lbs, which is the exact weight of the truck. The truck makes it half way across the bridge and stops. A bird lands on the truck. Does the bridge collapse? Give a reason.
A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50."
The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less.
In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet?
A magician was boasting one day at how long he could hold his breath under water. His record was 6 minutes. A kid that was listening said, "that's nothing, I can stay under water for 10 minutes using no types of equipment or air pockets!" The magician told the kid if he could do that, he'd give him $10,000. The kid did it and won the money. Can you figure out how?
I know loads more but I'll leave this for now

For the truck part, I do not think so because the bird is very, very light.Unless it was a goose.
For the carnival part, there may have been a scale under the boy.Or he just made a lucky guess
For the magician part, The kid may be a experinced swimmer or he may have been blowing bubbles.

For the truck riddle, my answer:
No, the bridge does not collapse because the petrol the truck used up on the bridge so far is the smae wieght as the bird ie the truck with bird still weight 14000lb!
For the boys weight riddle, my answer is:
the man wrote 'your exact weight' on the paper!
