Bismillah hir rah ma nir raheem.

As-salam ullaykum wa rahmuthi wa barakathu to you all

I pray you and your family is keeping well. May Allah guide you and your
family to the straight path. May Allah (SWA) raise you and those you
love on the day of Judgement with Prophet Mohammed Al-Mustafa (saw).

I live in the UK, in the south east near the sea. Well just a few hundred meters from the sea.
I am nearly 50, married with two kiddies. Girl 22 and boy 20

I work for Muslim organisation as a volunteer.
We try and look after the social, educational, religious and political needs of our local Muslim community.
We have a Saturday school, a Youth Club and a ladies group.
It is the ladies who continue to be the backbone of the organisation.

Walaykum as salam

alhamdulillah

[FONT="Verdana"][FONT="Georgia"]Walaykum as salam warahat Allah hi wa barakathu to you all.
Jazza ka Alah kharun for you kind comments.
You all have made me feel very welcome.

[FONT="Georgia"]What do you all think we in Britain can do to raise the profile of Islam.

Today, it is more important than ever before that Muslim communities show their willingness to interact with all types of groups and that they take steps to show the real Islam to our non-Muslim friends and acquaintances - not the version which has been portrayed by the press and by various criminal elements, each selfishly promoting its own agenda. To this end, it is imperative that Muslims include non-Muslim friends and colleagues in their own social and religious events.
There is an urgent need to prevent the isolation which is currently threatening to separate minority communities within our hitherto cohesive and successfully inter-dependent society.
