OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The Israeli Ha'aretz newspaper reported Friday that ex-Dutch premier and Israel's critic Andreas Agt accused the IOF troops of working as a terrorist organization and outspokenly stated that he witnessed Israel's brutality against Palestinians during his pilgrimage trip to the holy land in 1999.
According to the newspaper, Agt launched in last December a website called "driesvanagt" in which he accuses Israel of brutal treatment of the Palestinians, violating international law and implementing racist policies. The site contains a snapshot of a graffiti slogan sprayed by Zionist settlers on Al-Khalil wall, reading, "Arabs to the gas chambers."
In an interview with the newspaper, the former Dutch premier underlined that he feels ashamed for not speaking up for the Palestinians when he was in power.
"People often ask me how come I'm so outspoken now, but did not speak up when I was in a position of power. And it's true, I never spoke up for the Palestinians, except when Sabra and Shatila (massacre) happened. And even that was in soft terms," he regrettably admitted.
The former premier pointed out that what awakened his feeling towards the Palestinians was also the story of a Palestinian student from Bethlehem who was trying to get to his university for an exam, but upon reaching an Israeli-controlled checkpoint, the IOF troops forced him to walk on his hands and feet and to bark as they were laughing and saying, "All the Palestinians became dogs".
"Then I started thinking about the 39 United Nations resolutions begging, demanding and imploring Israel to vacate the occupied territories. All were dismissed by Israel. Saddam Hussein was attacked after four resolutions, but Israel got 39 and nobody talks about applying even the slightest pressure on Israel to comply with them," he highlighted.
