(please remember that all material is based on/comes from http://areg.amaksoud.com/node/12. (http://areg.amaksoud.com/node/12) Insha'Allah may you benefit).
To get the simple phrase "I am Muhammad", you must know this:
The verb "To Be" (as in I am Muhammad, He is Ahad) "To Be" is almost always omitted from a sentence. So to say "I am Muhammad", you would say "I Muhammad" (while using the Arabic words).
Similarily, "You are Maryam" = "You Maryam", "We are Muslims" = "We Muslims".
English | Arabic | Pronunciation
I | انا | Ana
_______________________________________
You (singular, masculine) | انتَ | Anta (the mark above the last letter [as Arabic is written right to left] is a vowel mark. More on that later)
_______________________________________
You (singular, feminine) | انتِ | Ante (the mark under the last letter is a vowel mark. More on that later)
_______________________________________
You (plural, any gender) | انتم | Antom
_______________________________________
He (singular)| هو | Huwa
_______________________________________
She (singular) | هي | Heeya
_______________________________________
They (plural, any gender) | هم | Hum
_______________________________________
We (plural, any gender)| نحنُ | Nahnu (note the mark above the last letter. A vowel. Also, remember the "h" sound is an h sound deep from the throat).
Please note that these are the pronouns for present tense. Some of these change according to the tense (present, past, imperative).

Remember when reading these that Arabic is read left to right.
A very simple conversation using the words we have learned:
Arabic | Pronunciation
محمد:اهلا انتِ جين (the last word is a name, Jean. The first word is a name, Muhammad) | Muhammad: Ahlan, ante Jean?
مريم:لا انا مريم (once again, the first word is a name, Maryam. The last word also says Maryam) | Maryam: La, ana Maryam
محمد:اسف انا محمد | Muhammad: Assef, ana Muhammad
مريم:انتَ محمد؟ اهل! | Maryam: Anta Muhammad? Ahlan (that symbol after the name 'Muhammad' is a question mark)
محمد:نعم شكرا | Muhammad: Na'am, shokran (remember, on a'a, make the a sound from deep inside the throat)
مريم:عفوا سلام | Maryam: Afwan, salaam
محمد:سلام | Muhammad: Salaam
Can you translate that?
Insha'Allah, I will create a thread about the letters, pronunciation, and vowel marks. Al-hamdu Allah.
