Have a look at this, 10s of thousands of celebrations are organized every year on 12th of rabi-ul-awal in pakistan, i know because i have spent 25 years of my life there, no offence to anyone.

Its become a pretty good business for the singers and they are respected as 'ulama' and sheikh is sometimes prefixed to their names. The famous ones get anywhere from 25000 to 20000 with 5star hotels and return air tickets from their homes. Plus, they get the 'tip' as well because the people who are there to partake in such events shower them with thousands. I havee seen it with my own two eyes so no one can say i am telling a story. Its extremely sad...It aint islam from anywhere.
