Please read a book titled "The Fundamentals of Tawheed [Islamic Monotheism]". It was written by Dr. Bilal Philips. It deals with the most important aspect of Islam; Believing in the absolute Oneness of Allah the Almighty, how to understand His Names and Attributes and how to make sure that all acts of worship are directed to Him alone and to no one else.
